Guest guest
Hi Kate,.....having only one working hand makes it hard to hold on to something that requires 2 hands. Even opening a bag of chips takes all my strength to get it to open. I can grasp stuff with my right hand but then it takes quite a bit of effort to loosen it. I had to squeeze a Dr's hand once with it one time, and he finally said I could let go, and I had to peel my fingers off his hand to loosen it. It sounds like it is strong, but its really weak when I try to use it. I think it goes spastic when I try it and thats why it won't let go. So one of those book holders would probably be a nice thing to have. I bought a big Bible with giant print and it weighs 3 lbs, and there's no way I could lift it with my right hand, and to hold it up one handed wouldn't work either. Yeah, I think my 3 grands are pretty special, I just wish I could see them more, and do things outside the house with them. But they are so concerned about me, and are eager to help me. Even little Christian [2 yrs.] brought me my rolling table for me when I couldn't reach it. It was so darling to see him push it to me. Once my Skylar [9] was helping me put on my socks, and she said matter factedly "Nana I don't know why you don't know how to put your socks on"? She was about 6 yrs. lol.... was my best helper. She helped me get out of bed, and get my clothes on, and then make sure I was all set to grab my walker. p/s ttysoon! :-) Hugs, Jackie Subject: update time! To: "Group" <mserslife >Date: Tuesday, February 15, 2011, 11:06 AM It's update time everyone!
