Guest guest
From time to time we forget and need to remind oursevles: When responding to a post, Please! Delete all but your responce, and, if you need it, the part to which you are replying. If you reply to a reply to a reply to a reply to...you get the point. The post becomes very long and cumbersome for the reader to scroll down. Doug
Guest guest
In the interest of learning to do what my T calls using my voice. I'm going to pipe up. i like it better when I can see the whole thread - if you delete I won't know what you are talking about because I only check a few times a day. I realize that goes against the customs here, but it is my personal preference. There I did it!!! Guest guest
I second GS. I don't get to check the list very often, either. It's so much easier to follow if you can see the whole thread on one single post versus having to search through multiple posts to find the original message so you can figure out what the heck people are talking about in their responses. However, I can also see Doug's point. It can be very cumbersome to scroll through multiple responses, if you subscribe to the digest version. I know if I'm reading the digest on my blackberry, I don't always get to read the whole thing because there are a limited number of bytes that can be displayed. So, in the interest of fairness, maybe we should put it to a vote? Just an idea. > > > ** > > > > > > From time to time we forget and need to remind oursevles: > > > > When responding to a post, Please! Guest guest
Maybe we could eliminate all but the most recent post in the thread, or eliminate all but the specific post you are responding to? So there's only one below yours, that has the points in it you're responding to? I just read these posts at the Group site, so I don't have to worry about a gazillion mail messages or scrolling through them, but I'm willing to my trim posts back to just the one I'm responding to plus my response. -Annie > > I second GS. Guest guest
Girlscout? Assertiveness? What would your Momma say? I usually just read the previous message, then click down to the replies to get the feel of the thread. We can also copy over the parts which are pertinant. As much as we can delete, headers, ect, makes it for me, at least, easier to read as I don t have to scroll way way way way way down to reply to it. I ll still read it, and reply if I have something to say. I just find it easier if we remove as much icing from the cake as possible. Wow. I still havent gotten over GS using her big girl britches and asserting her opinion. You GO GS, GF, Woooooman! Quite a step for KO kid! Guest guest
I like to keep it brief. If I'm really feeling like I missed something important, then I'll go look at others. I do like the idea of just keeping the bits that you're responding to. > > > When responding to a post, Please! Guest guest
I think that everyone's browsers must organize it differently. I get mine in a gmail account exclusive to that and it wraps them into a nice little package for me. HAHA I said package (that immature behavior is specifically for doug) Anyway it sounds like it might be a situation of different strokes for different folks > ** > > > I like to keep it brief.
