Guest guest
hang in there ...i wish you peace >>debbi brantSubject: update....To: "~SC~" Date: Tuesday, August 24, 2010, 7:24 PM Yesterday was our four week check up with the neurosurgeon. The doctor asked us if had started any medication for the MS. We told him that has started the Betaseron injections. At the end of the visit the doctor showed us ’s lesions on the MRI. There are many. ’s brain stem has many lesions on them as well. We were a bit taken back by that. It does explain all his symptoms being related to what the brain stem controls. The doctor told us ’s symptoms will never go away and that the medications only work for a 1/3 of the people taking them. Not very encouraging. Our regular neurologist is the one sending to the MS specialist in Philadelphia. That visit takes a few weeks to set up so we have not heard back yet. http://countermanfamilynews.blogspot.com/

Guest guest
That's kind of tough news to hear, isn't it ? Let's all hope and pray the betaseron works for and his lesions decrease! Personally, I am a believer not only in the possibility of improvement but the likelihood of it happening. In fact, I am proof of it! I was in bad shape MS-wise a few years ago. My neuro said my symptoms would never get better but I proved him wrong. I just wish he had lived to see it. I am improved and those killer leg pains I was having are totally gone. Don't give up. There are improvements on the horizon!! hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Wow, , that must have been verydifficult news to get. I am so sorry there isso many lesions, and that there are some inthe brain stem. As you said, it does explainhis symptoms. I wouldn't be so discouragedwith his saying only 1/3 can be helped.Ithink sometimes doctors can be negativeand not very encouraging. Some are alarmists.Hopefully, the med will make an impact on hisMS and symptoms. It remains to be seen.Keep the faith, love, Kate update....To: ~SC~ > Yesterday was our four week check up with the neurosurgeon.
