Under the Civil Right Acts and by law your child does not have to be vaccinated. You can type a letter stating that you do not agree with vacinations and your child will not be vaccinated. You just need a notary to notarize it! Here is a sample letter Here is an example of a philosophical refusal letter: To whom it may concern: I am declining to have (Child's name), given any further vaccinations. I am opposed to further vaccinations due to medical (and/or) personal philosophical concerns. I have included a current copy of (your state's) vaccine policy/legislation which states that I have a right not to vaccinate my children and still have them attend public school. Sincerely, (Your

Name) Be sure to check your state's revised code to get the specific information for your state. Also, be aware that your school administration or nurse may send home a form letter that states that your children can not return to school until after they are caught up on vaccinations. Sometimes the school may be trying to mislead you in hopes that you will get your child vaccinated. Other times they just use a form letter because that is what they have on hand, and they will be very cooperative with your wish to refuse vaccinations for your children. Try to be polite and persuasive, rather than argumentative and abrasive when dealing with school staff. They are doing what they think is best for the community. It is not (necessarily) your job to change minds and policies, but to keep your children healthy and safe. You may have to sign a form with

your pediatrician's office as well, stating that you won't sue your doctor if your child contracts any of the diseases that you refuse vaccination for. While it may seem silly, it is definitely worth signing if you want to remain with your pediatrician and you don't want your children vaccinated. Thank You,Jill M. I am not sure but I think the TB screen is safe....it is not a vaccine just a skin prick... For the MMR your son probably already had one MMR shot and that would 95% make sure he is already immune. They like to give a second MMR around age 5 just to make sure all the kids are immune when in fact 95% are immune after one shot........just a great way to screw up a lot more kids and make billions more revenue! Totally disgusting. You can go to your pediatrician and ask him to check your sons titers for the MMR viruses. Any regular lab can run it and it should be covered by insurance. Most likely your son will be immune. It will require your son to have to have a blood draw. If your son is immune you can show that lab report to the school nurse and that is as good as having a booster

shot. To: "mb12valtrex " <mb12valtrex > Sent: Tuesday, May 22, 2012 9:44 PM Subject: Need Advice! Son is starting Kindergarten and vaccinations.

Hi All, My wife and I need some advice. Our 4 year old twin boy is beginning kindergarten next September. We have stopped all vaccinations for a year now. He is being treated by a Biomedical doctor in New York for almost a year now. He is coming along nicely but nowhere near recovered yet. Now we are faced with the school system here in Port Chester (Westchester County), NY. They are asking for MMR vaccination and TB screen (I am not what this is). They are asking for the vaccination or a letter from a lawyer stating as to the reason why he can not get the

vaccination. I am wondering if there is

anything at all like a Parental rights on Vaccinations for their Autistic Children. The last thing we want to do is give him this vaccination and TB screen and

have himregress or worse. We would appreciate any help/input on this. With sincere gratitude, andra and Rolando

Not true. You can only refuse in states that allow an exemption. Medical, religious and philosophical are the different types of exemptions but not all are available in all states and HOW you do it varies from state to state. For instance, in CA, we have a philosophical waiver. We don't need to write a letter or have it notarized. All we need to do is flip the blue card over at registration and sign the waivers. You need to find out what your state's requirements are as not all are the same and not all states have a waiver. It is NOT covered under the civil rights act nor is it covered under federal law. www.vaclib.org for all the info you need for any state, including sample forms, letters and such.

I am also in Westchester - NY only allows exemptions for religious reasons or

medical reasons - there is no Civil Right - not to vaccinate.

Do Not tell the school or dr you don't want to vaccinate because you are worried

about an adverse reaction - or autism etc. - you will undercut your attempt at

exemption.
