Guest guest
That's right. Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd. It's the name of the founder (Ingvar Kamprad), and the name of the village where he grew up (Elmtaryd Agunnaryd). It's no more exciting than that. See, it started as a very small thing, it was just the 17 year old Ingvar Kamprad selling the odd things out of his parents outhouse... But Akiba's suggestion was of course much more...well...interesting... ; )love/Reb---------acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/ikeaI found five sources which all say the same thing.Reb can verifiy--will you, Reb?Love to you all, nTo: MSersLife Sent: Wed, August 25, 2010 10:36:27 AMSubject: Re: Impatience...the Swedish kind I love IKEA furnishings and all they have to offer! Guest guest
Sorry, my bad. See, in Swedish an outhouse is simply means a smaller building, separated from the main building. It may contain that flush-less kind of toilet, but it may as well be used for storage purposes, or as a garden shed or whatever. You know, we Swedes are known for not using a lot of euphemisms for that. In Swedish the word bathroom just refers to a room with a bath/shower in it, and a restroom could only ever be a room where you are supposed to rest (that is a room with a bed/beds). And the mens room is known as a "mens toilet" (and a ladies room is of course known as a "ladies toilet"). Don't know if we are honest, natural or just simple... But that's us....love/Reb----Out of their OUTHOUSE???? (maybe my suggestion was more on point then I thought...) ~*~Hugs~*~~*~Akiba~*~-------Original Message-------

Guest guest
I think it's more that you (as a people) might just be more "literal", definitely NOT simple... ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ -- Re: Impatience...the Swedish kind/What Ikea stands for Sorry, my bad.
