I tried it for myself for acne and I only tried it for 2 weeks bc one of the side effects is it turns your gums blue/ grey. I started to see that and had to stop using it. I didn't get any upset stomach or anything like that. That's all I can tell u about it, sorry I'm not more helpful.CassieSent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®From: wbrecovery@...Sender: mb12valtrex Date: Sun, 27 May 2012 14:07:11 -0400 (EDT)To: <beyondgfcf >; <mb12valtrex >ReplyTo: mb12valtrex Subject: Minocycline?? We didn't have any luck with it. It can lower platelets and that's what happened to my daughter. She started getting bruises, so we did blood work and thn stopped it. Hope it does better things for you.

We tried it with our son who was non-verbal at the time (he did slowly start talking with other treatments at 6 1/2 yrs. old...so don't give up!), all it did was destroy his gut. It does help some kids (I've read mainly kids w/regressive autism which my son has and why we tried it), but I haven't heard many parents report good luck with it and there's not a lot of research proving it helps.

I think most docs now use Zithromax instead for autism because

Minocycline causes teeth to turn permanently grey. A lot of DANs use

Zithromax, and currently a favorite way to use it is long-term, low dose

to avoid upsetting their stomachs. It doesn't take long for the teeth

to start turning, so keep a close watch.

Love and prayers,
