Guest guest
hello group, I need some advice. lately every time I wanted to do something with my son, or even if i do not engage him he is itchy and needs to be scratched. His skin is not too dry or oily, I do not see any redness or rash, anything on it. He just needing to be scratched. I am not sure if this sensory issue or what it is, but it is driving me and him nuts. He looses focus, can not concentrate on anything, and just plain frustrating for both of us. Does anyone had this kind of experience, and what am I supposed to do? Doctors do not seem to care /understand, and I am getting really fed up with all this itching and scratching business. I feel very sorry for him, and I wish i could find out what it may have causing it. We did not change anything in a recent weeks/months . we use only coconut oil for moisturizer too. Guest guest
My son started itching when we started sensory integration therapy. It was not a sensory issue, though. It was the teacher who was very demanding and tough. My son was using this behavior to escape from things. At that time he did same thing when I was teaching him. He would start itching all over his body as soon as I try to teach him something. When he was free, there would be no itching. I stopped taking him to that therapist and went little easy on him and it is over now. Your case sounds like mine and it is probably psychological..Take care Ayse No he hasn't. is that one of the signs of Lyme disease? Guest guest
Yes it is. Lyme and/or parasites. I never would have thought of Lyme, but we tested positive. I think every kid with developmental or neurological issues should be tested for infections, including Lyme. Your DAN should be able to do the testing. Quest or labcor can run most tests, but the Lyme should be done through Igenex as they have the most sensitive and comprehensive testing. I definitely would not assume its psychological or behavioral until medical reasons are ruled out. I think that is a common mistake with our kids. Guest guest
My children itch esp on their chest and upper back and ankles when they are pushing out a virus. They do not express viral reactions normally like fever. They get lethargy and small dost maybe on the breast bone then their entire trunk begins to itch. It is a situation in which we increase antivirals, this makes the rash worse but releases the virus and then they improve - lysine, garlic, monolaurin, berberine esp if strep (bacteria) was also around. Also hot head, sweaty head. > > > >> > >> hello group, > >> > >> I need some advice. > >> lately every time I wanted to do something with my son, or even if i do not engage him he is itchy and needs to be scratched. > >> His skin is not too dry or oily, I do not see any redness or rash, anything on it. Guest guest
My little guy tested positive for Lyme last August after his Biomedical doctor ordered the Igenex test. He is still taking antibiotics for it. Azithromycin and Cednifir (spelling ?). He had another Lyme test in February and his levels are coming down. But we notice he had this little wringing of his fingers on his bottom of his shirt or shorts before the test. He stills asks us to scratch is back and we see him itch/scratch his legs sometimes. I did not know this was a symptom of Lyme. I thought it was a symptom of too much yeast.Thank you all,Rolando To: mb12valtrex Sent: Tuesday, May 29, 2012 9:57 AM Subject: Re: Re: constant itching ,that's so much like him, itching upper back reaching down to leg , chest , sweaty head, but we have no rash. i will have him tested for lyme anyways, been wanting but they never ordered it for him. i know we did have strep b/c he had some pandas symptoms as well a few weeks back we took care of that and still working on it more.i will try to be more easy on him with work too to get more rest.thank you all Tunde My children itch esp on their chest and upper back and ankles when they are pushing out a virus. Guest guest
wow,I will definitely have him tested for Lyme, and get more control over yeast to cover all bases. It is just really upsetting him, and myself too b/c I can not help this poor little guy. Guest guest
I myself have had a few episodes of itching. The first time I was 8 months pregnant with my first son who was later diagnosed with PDD. ADHD, Autism, PANDAS....The doctors had no idea why I was so itchy all over my belly, back, arms and legs. I scratched so much I tore the skin and made it bleed. The itchiness went away a few days after delivery. I had another episode like this a few years later. By then I decided it was hormaonal or yeast related. I started taking a birthcontrol pill and immediately started the itching again. I don't know if it was the estrogen that causes yeast, but I believe my body had yeast and that is why I was itchy. I stopped taking the pill, and stopped itching soon after that. If it is itchy later in the evenings and not so bad during the day, I would think it could be caused by yeast.
