Hi all my sweet friendsWell, now this is going to be a long email, but hey, if you're lucky, you might just get rid of me. LOL No, I'm not going to tell you how? You will have to read the whole damn thing and figure it out for yourself!!!We all know how stress and MS is bad enemies. When you're stressed, well, nothing works like before and just go on strike. I've been having a lot of emotional pain, like I know all of you had and maybe still have in your life. Well, last week, I decided I've had enough. So I stood up for myself and told someone, I'm taking back my life. She stole 24 years of my life that she hurt me and made me feel useless, so it's the end. Don't worry, she's still alive. Besides, it would've been too easy. That was Saturday, 19th.Anyway, after that I was amazed with the

difference in my life. I've been walking with a walker (my Camaro) for the past 17 months. When I started my diet, I told my Mom that I want to get rid of it, but I must admit, I was afraid. I didn't feel too safe on my own two feet. So it was very slow when I didn't have it in town. Anyway, on Sunday, 20th, I told my Mom, well, let's try it without a walker. I feel a whole lot stronger, have more energy, my feet pain like mad, but I want to try it. And what do you know? I've managed to walk all over town without my walker. Actually, I even walked too fast for my Mom. Now the last while, she's been walking too fast for me, so I guess she suddenly got a bit older. LOL It felt great. I even managed a flight of stairs. Yeah!!!! I flew it down and ran it up again. I didn't have too much pain, no fatigue and best of all, the ants were gone. Well, I had that fun time for 4 whole days. Now come on?? You know how life works??? Anyway on Thursday we heard

about a lady who had some kind of vision. Oh oh, now that doesn't sound too good. Now it may not be true, but what if it is!!! The vision was about a tsunami hitting Mossel Bay very hard. Great!! I can't swim!!! Okay, Mom, maybe we should put the walker back into the car again. I don't feel so strong anymore. You know what happened? I could hardly walk, I had a bad spell of fatigue and I was dragging my feet again. Great!!! There goes all the good times and fun. Well, yesterday I tried walking without the walker again, it started a bit slow, but ended very well. I've had time to get used to the idea of a tsunami. Okay, as much as I can get used to the idea. Now living in SA means that you expect the worse every day. We're kind of geared up for any situation. I mean, every now and then someone goes on strike. A while back the transport services strike, well, they went back to work again. But the day that happened, the Municipalities decided it was

their turn to strike. So I'm sure you all get the picture. And we even geared up for drought. But I can't gear up for a tsunami. What do I have to do? Wear a rubber ducky to keep me afloat??? LOL Don't think so.Luckily we live on a hill. I'm sure long ago, when Mossel Bay didn't have humans, just wild animals running around, the baboons definitely had canes. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to get up the hill. Poor elephants probably just gave orders to the baboons to fetch whatever they wanted. Too steep. Well, at least I'm still walking without my walker, I'm so happy about it. I have this silly grin all over my face, even though a tsunami may be on my tail. The ants are back, sadly, but I suppose it was too good to last for long. I've had 4 days vacation from them.I think the point I want to make through the waves and everything, is that you never should give up hope. MS is one of those strange things. One day you land in a wheelchair the

next you're okay again. So please, never give up. I was walking 17 months with that walker, I must admit I never thought I would really retire it. The big problem is your self-esteem, sometimes we just give up and we're too afraid to fall flat on our faces. Okay, so I have a lot of blue bruises, but that's not too bad, I love blue. So I just dress accordingly to my bruises. LOL No, luckily I haven't fallen, just walked into every door. It was easier just to walk into doors with a set of wheels. LOLOLOLNow I've thought of a few ways to make sure the sharks don't like me too much. I'm not going to wash my feet, ever again. Hopefully they don't like smelly feet. LOL Sorry, but I think you all know by now that when I get a bit stressed, well, I find that making jokes help me to relax and deal with it. So there you have my loooooong email. I will talk to you all soon. That is if I don't drop on your doorstep. Watch out n!!! If you hear a big

bump, you will know it's my butt hitting the ground on your doorstep. LOLLove you all and take care.

at least you see the humor in it - I know there are days and there are days

some days are diamonds - some days are stone - Denver God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there.

Dear, dear !! Thank you for your sense of humor. I do love to read your emails:)That's wonderful about your walking without the walker!! Woo-hoo!!! I'm so glad for you because it makes you so happy. Your mom better do her exercises so she can keep up with you. lolNow about the vision about the tsunami. The best thing to allay any fear is to be prepared for whatever may happen. When I lived in Alaska we had regular tsunami warnings and drills. The area had been hit by a huge tsunami in the 60s so they all worked at being prepared. Our cabin was on 40 acres up high on a hill away from the ocean so we were safe. But the community was mostly at sea level and if there was a tsunami it would affect the roads,

the gas stations, the grocery stores, etc. I will send a website in a separate email about preparedness. It has a section for the disabled too.big hugs to you!
