Out of seven people in this household I am still one of the

three who are well. Woo-hoo! The others still have the cold

virus/flu, or whatever it is. The 15 year old has now been sick for 2

weeks, but is doing better each day.

Tomorrow I see the dentist--finally. I have never in my life been excited

about going to the dentist, but I am now. I have really had a hard time

with pain with this tooth and it's been bad. n was right in her

advice--I started the antibiotic and I apparently did need it because I

am feeling better. For two nights now I have been able to actually lie

down at night to sleep. lol I had to sit up to sleep for days

(nights:) because my tooth hurt too bad when lying down.

On the genealogy front: I got an email from a distant cousin last night

and he sent me a photo of my great aunt Etta. Etta was born in

1857. He also sent a copy of Etta's death certificate. Now I have

the genealogy fire again! I had let it go for quit a while now but now I guess

I will get back to it.

I have been taking care of the chickens/ducks twice a day. Yesterday when

I was out for the late afternoon feeding/watering I thought about how much I

enjoy my 'bird' time and how good it is for me. Right now I think

I will still be taking care of them this winter. I will have to cut down

to once a day and that would be in the middle of the day because of the snow

and ice. I really, really hope I can still go out in the winter weather

but I am not so sure. I hate being stuck inside the house all those

winter months! Everyone around this area thinks we are in for a worse

winter this year. I hope they are all wrong;) My son is getting in

our firewood in preparation and at this point we have 2 1/2 cords of wood but

need at least another 5 cords. I hate freezing weather! lol

I hope you all have had a calm weekend?

Sharon I will keep you in my prayers for your dentist visit.

We had a nice weekend. Our oldest grandson came back from college last night and came over this morning and surprised us. We got to visit for about an hour and half before he had to leave to make the trip back to college.

Chuck is doing pretty good. He had a little bit of a problem last night with his legs jerking/jumping but is ok now. I am going to call the dr in the morning because I haven't been feeling right for awhile. I have excessive thirst, dry mouth, excessive sweating, all indications of diabetes. Since Chuck is diabetic I have been checking my blood sugar levels at morning time and at night. The lowest was 192 and the highest 358. So I am giving in a calling in the morning. Just another bump in the road. I have made it through a lot worse thats for sure!

Hugs

nne, do take good care of you. I have had diabetes(secondary to Cystic Fibrosis) since I was six years ol.I am proof that it IS possible to really live life with it.I may just tell my dear friend wMS,. Edna, about those levelsthough--awfully similar to what hers are.If you get properly diagnosed and really do as you are prescribed, you can (as you know) get this under control.Love to you and to Chuck,nFrom:

Nice to have the grandson!

I think you should definitely go get checked for diabetes - the sooner

you know and start taking care of it the less trouble you have, that's for

sure! Prayers...

That's really great you are staying nice and healthy, Sharon! Kudos to you!I am SO happy you are getting to the dentist tomorrow, and am also gladthat you did in fact take the antibiotic and that it helped. Might be also whyyou are staying 'insulated' from getting sick. How exciting to get back into the genealogy; I've always been envious ofyour looking into that for yourself. Enjoy the history!I think you're birds and your care-taking of them is really cool. It must be sucha huge job to feed and clean up after them all. How was your garden this year?Did you get a big crop?We grew tomatoes in large pots on our front yard and some basil and oreganoas well--the oregano always winters over, so we never have to replant it. We gota fairly good amount for only having 7 plants. We have pumpkins growing in ourfront yard--only because each year, we kinda toss seeds and pieces of pumpkinfrom our Halloween jack o lanters into the flower bed. My husband doesn't thinkany pumpkins will come, but there are huge flowers that he thinks my daughtershould fry up for dinner some night. I guess maybe there are just not enoughbees this year to pollinate the flowers.I'll try and respond with an update from me.love, Kate new update (Sharon)To: Group > Out of seven people in this household I am still one of the > three who are well. > Woo-hoo! I'll be sure to follow drs orders. Chuck does good with his sugar levels except after a steroid treatment. I know I will be able to also. Diabetes runs in my family so it doesn't really surprise me. Does Edna take insulin shots or meds?

RE: new update (Sharon)

Out of seven people in this household I am still one of the three who are well. Woo-hoo! The others still have the cold virus/flu, or whatever it is. The 15 year old has now been sick for 2 weeks, but is doing better each day. Tomorrow I see the dentist--finally. I have never in my life been excited about going to the dentist, but I am now. I have really had a hard time with pain with this tooth and it's been bad. n was right in her advice--I started the antibiotic and I apparently did need it because I am feeling better. For two nights now I have been able to actually lie down at night to sleep. lol I had to sit up to sleep for days (nights:) because my tooth hurt too bad when lying down. On the genealogy front: I got an email from a distant cousin last night and he sent me a photo of my great aunt Etta. Etta was born in 1857. He also sent a copy of Etta's death certificate. Now I have the genealogy fire again! I had let it go for quit a while now but now I guess I will get back to it. I have been taking care of the chickens/ducks twice a day. Yesterday when I was out for the late afternoon feeding/watering I thought about how much I enjoy my 'bird' time and how good it is for me. Right now I think I will still be taking care of them this winter. I will have to cut down to once a day and that would be in the middle of the day because of the snow and ice. I really, really hope I can still go out in the winter weather but I am not so sure. I hate being stuck inside the house all those winter months! Everyone around this area thinks we are in for a worse winter this year. I hope they are all wrong;) My son is getting in our firewood in preparation and at this point we have 2 1/2 cords of wood but need at least another 5 cords. I hate freezing weather! lolI hope you all have had a calm weekend? hugs

Thanks for the prayers Sharon. Yep I am a survivor for sure. Did I tell you for my 20 yr anniversary since my diagnoses that my Aunt paid for me to get a tattoo? She asked if we were going to celebrate and I said no but hopefully for my 25th I would have money to get a breast cancer ribbon with survivor under it. She said well go get one!! I laugh cause it took me 64 1/2 yrs to do something wild!! My kids thought I was kidding and would never get one.
