Guest guest
She takes Insulin, as did both her sisters and her father. She used to take Metformin, but years ago was changed toInsulin, Novolog for now. IF she tests and if she injects beforebreakfast and dinner and can avoid snacking, she does so very well.Steroids do raise everyone's blood glucose levels, even non-diabetics--but you and Chuck can be a team with this. I am so veryglad that you thought to test yourself.Love and hope to both of you, ne,nP.S. A high percentage of those with any major autoimmune disease, such as MS also have diabetes. . . I know: more cheer! M.~To: mserslife Sent: Sun, August 29, 2010 3:48:36 PMSubject: Re: new update (Sharon) I'll be sure to follow drs orders. Chuck does good with his sugar levels except after a steroid treatment. I know I will be able to also. Diabetes runs in my family so it doesn't really surprise me. Does Edna take insulin shots or meds? We had a nice weekend. Our oldest grandson came back from college last night and came over this morning and surprised us. We got to visit for about an hour and half before he had to leave to make the trip back to college. Chuck is doing pretty good. He had a little bit of a problem last night with his legs jerking/jumping but is ok now. I am going to call the dr in the morning because I haven't been feeling right for awhile. I have excessive thirst, dry mouth, excessive sweating, all indications of diabetes. Since Chuck is diabetic I have been checking my blood sugar levels at morning time and at night. The lowest was 192 and the highest 358. So I am giving in a calling in the morning. Just another bump in the road. I have made it through a lot worse thats for sure! Woo-hoo! The others still have the cold virus/flu, or whatever it is. The 15 year old has now been sick for 2 weeks, but is doing better each day. Tomorrow I see the dentist--finally. I have never in my life been excited about going to the dentist, but I am now. I have really had a hard time with pain with this tooth and it's been bad. n was right in her advice--I started the antibiotic and I apparently did need it because I am feeling better. For two nights now I have been able to actually lie down at night to sleep. lol I had to sit up to sleep for days (nights:) because my tooth hurt too bad when lying down. On the genealogy front: I got an email from a distant cousin last night and he sent me a photo of my great aunt Etta. Etta was born in 1857. He also sent a copy of Etta's death certificate. Now I have the genealogy fire again! I had let it go for quit a while now but now I guess I will get back to it. I have been taking care of the chickens/ducks twice a day. Yesterday when I was out for the late afternoon feeding/watering I thought about how much I enjoy my 'bird' time and how good it is for me. Right now I think I will still be taking care of them this winter. I will have to cut down to once a day and that would be in the middle of the day because of the snow and ice. I really, really hope I can still go out in the winter weather but I am not so sure. I hate being stuck inside the house all those winter months! Everyone around this area thinks we are in for a worse winter this year. I hope they are all wrong;) My son is getting in our firewood in preparation and at this point we have 2 1/2 cords of wood but need at least another 5 cords. I hate freezing weather! lolI hope you all have had a calm weekend? hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
