Guest guest
Hi Kate, I am looking forward to your update:)Our garden was slow this year because we still had freezing weather three weeks into May! What the heck! So the garden has been slow to produce as a result of late planting. We are getting good tomatoes now. We have the regular large red tomatoes, some heirloom Cherokee Purples as well as yellow and red cherry tomatoes. We have really good peppers this year: jalapenos, green chilies, bell peppers and poblanos. We have eaten Swiss Chard a couple times. The scalloped squash is doing good but the yellow crookneck and the zucchini was destroyed by the squash bugs. We have several kinds of watermelons, green beans, rattlesnake beans, beets, cabbage, spinach... stuff like that that isn't ready to pick yet.You did have a good yield from your pots! Kudos to you!I am SO happy you are getting to the dentist tomorrow, and am also gladthat you did in fact take the antibiotic and that it helped. Might be also whyyou are staying 'insulated' from getting sick. How exciting to get back into the genealogy; I've always been envious ofyour looking into that for yourself. Enjoy the history!I think you're birds and your care-taking of them is really cool. It must be sucha huge job to feed and clean up after them all. How was your garden this year?Did you get a big crop?We grew tomatoes in large pots on our front yard and some basil and oreganoas well--the oregano always winters over, so we never have to replant it. We gota fairly good amount for only having 7 plants. We have pumpkins growing in ourfront yard--only because each year, we kinda toss seeds and pieces of pumpkinfrom our Halloween jack o lanters into the flower bed. My husband doesn't thinkany pumpkins will come, but there are huge flowers that he thinks my daughtershould fry up for dinner some night. I guess maybe there are just not enoughbees this year to pollinate the flowers.I'll try and respond with an update from me.love, Kate new update (Sharon)To: Group > Out of seven people in this household I am still one of the > three who are well. > Woo-hoo! Guest guest
I'll try to get some pictures to share. There are a lot of sunflowers and they look spectacular:) We will use some of the sunflower seeds ourselves but most of the sunflower head will be dried to feed to the chickens this winter.SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
