Guest guest
I have been reading a lot of posts about nightmares and thought I would throw this out. I was in therapy for 4 years, until just 2 months ago. I lost insurance and am presently unemployed, so am having to take a break from therapy. However, I haven't had a nightmare for about 2 years now. I have noticed that as the nightmares about my childhood stopped, my mental health improved. This must indicate that my pain was largely subconscious. I was a teeth grinder too, but I no longer grind. I still have an obsessive/compulsive tenancy to keep my fingernails and and hangnails really short, but this has become less over the last 2 years. I used to make my fingers bleed by cutting my nails and hangnails too short. I don't do that anymore. My nail biting has also decreased significantly. Has anyone else noticed a decrease of these types of behaviors after therapy? What other negative behaviors have you noticed, that may be a result of childhood abuse?
