yes, it's hard enough on us never mind the added stress of being reported to CPS. I always say "We are good parents in an extreme parenting situation".

Confession time:

Last year, I had the unfortunate experience of someone (I haven't a clue who) making an anonymous complaint b'/c my son eloped on my husband even though we had the house locked. He's a smart little kids and knows how to get out. It literally happened the day after school let out. My husband was watching him day when my son took off. I was at work at the time.

This incident resulted in me getting a letter and a visit CSP. I felt angry and humiliated b/c I bust my hump for my son (we all do). Fortunately, the person who came was very experienced not a rooky. I was very calm and spoke carefully. He wanted to see the home, the locks on the door, the backyard area. He had a lot of questions which I calmly answered. I had my sister and mother there for support. I highly encourage you to have someone there to support you. They spoke up and defended me and told them all the good things that I do as a mom and how dedicated I am. Based on that meeting he closed the case.

It was scary as hell that someone can anonymously report you. As another poster said stay calm and bring someone for support. You'll get through this.

In my state, they don't go by dirty houses any more, but I do agree that you have to be EXTREMELY CAREFUL on what you tell others. I bring doc notes into the school from my kids' docs. There are autism recovery docs out there that take Medicaid, but I do know there are not many. Don't get caught up on this list of understanding moms and think others want to learn and understand as well. They don't. Since all my kids tested allergic to wheat and dairy, I could have used their regular doc. It's not really the allergy though; it's the inability to digest casein and gluten, but don't even try to go there. I once did bring in a scientific study showing how gluten makes kids act "out-of-it" or "drugged-out". They read it and actually honored it. So, dig up your research girl. Print out the research and show it to them. Google "autism phenols abstract" "autism gluten abstract" or just

"autism gluten" ,etc. Show them the news reports, research, etc. And I'll be most kids who can't digest casein and gluten will also test positive. So, get some allergy testing and go to www.generationrescue.org and get some local information on docs and services. Channa,Just be careful and don’t believe a thing the people at CPS say. I took in a young man for a while who came from horrible beginnings. He went to school with and needed a place after he stole from the uncle he was living with. He had all kind of dependency (drug and alcohol) issues that were beyond my scope. The people at CPS wanted him to go into a wonderful facility near my home to help him with these issues. We were planning for him to be with us on the weekends and back after he got the help he needed. The people at CPS promised me they would not send him back to his mother in Ohio because she was a mess. I brought him to the facility at 3 in the afternoon. By that evening they had him on a plane to Ohio. That way he was no longer their responsibility and Ohio’s problem. I was so angry that they lied right to my face and did the exact wrong thing for this young kid. Sometimes I wonder if anyone should ever contact CPS because it seems they aren’t really there for the welfare of the kids. Have you gotten someone from your local Autism group to advocate for you and explain about the diet and the rest? We all look crazy with the things we do to help our kids. oh thank you marcia, i appreciate your well wishes... its crazy and so scary, parents are neglectful for not vaccinating their child with what they believe is dangerous toxins and if parents do specail diets that help keep their child healthy then they are starving their child...then your right CPS doesnt have the proper knowledge how to care for kids.

and yes of course the moms who are really hurting their child seem to get them back. go figure.

I have a lawyer in mind...my sons teacher thinks they will drop the case ...(she said im the best mom she knows.)

I am hoping so. I hate this feeling of being scared all the time. makes me even more paranoid then i already am! lol

oh my gosh you guys are so awesome. thank you sarah! I think i want to marry all of you.hehe.

yes we are parents in extreme parenting.! I dont follow my sons diet, bowel movements ect ect on three page daily reports because im bored! God knows I could be doing other things with my time like letting my son eat TV dinners while i go get drunk at the local bar. I envy those people that do nothing and have perfectly healthy kids. they just dont know how lucky they are.

again...I made things worse by getting so upset. and if you dont know me a person might not know how to take me. my sons teachers are falling all over themselves to defend me and that really overwhelmed me because im so used to being attacked not defended..sooo... it kind of threw me off. .lol

love you guys ...all of you ..even the ones that dont post. this group is the best warrior group ever!

Ok Mel, I dont know what it is about you but every time I hear from you I want to hug you. oh I wish I could get my hands on evil mall mom! oh i would grap her by her hair and throw her across the play structure if I could meet her! for real and that is no joke. bitch. i curse her with the worst case of hemroids!

I am so sorry, Channa. I still have your printed words of encouragement right here in front of me. My experiences have not been as horrifying as yours, but I do hate a clueless busybody. My gossipy coworker, who has no kids, went to my boss and said my office had become messy since my daughter's diagnosis. My boss, being a spineless nobody, relayed it to me and said, "Are your personal problems getting in the way of your work?" I said, "No, constantly being talked about by this woman is getting in the way of my work." And this woman is so loud and fake and obnoxious. The other day, at the local mall play area for the kids, my daughter kept insisting on opening the emergency exit door, so I had to block it with my body. Then, she moved on to mouthing a play structure. Right in front of me, this other Mom gave my beautiful daughter the evil look of death, which is still bugging me. My house is dirty, too, because I spend every waking moment

that I am not at my job in recovering my daughter. Nothing else exists for me right now. The only way out is through. I appreciate the support on this listserve immensely, even though we each have our individual battle to fight with our kids' autism. WTF? Seriously WTF? but don't blame CPS, they are doing their 'job'. Blame the one who tipped them. The hell know what they were talking about. Could you get yourself a parent advocate? And as others have mentioned a letter from a medical professional would certainly help.

And I feel like, in such case, I will handle case little politely than acting loudly. These days law and enforcement officials are above god in everything, so talk very very carefully.

This so pisses me off. They know a hoot about how to treat our kids so just leave things to us, we care about our kids lot more than the society does. Society merely gives a lip-service.

well the crazy lady is back. I am dealing with a horrible situation that has caused me to put my biomed book on hold.I am being investigated by child protective services because someone told them I starve my son by with holding dairy bread and fruit.they also said i have a dirty house. I would bet most moms on this forum maybe could have the same thing said about them at one time or another, but as I live in the ghetto and am a single mom...it is not common practice biomed in these parts. I dont have the protection of a DAM docter or family to vouch for me so I must prove I am fit to care for my son alone.I am spilling this private info because I think it is so importantwe all know how the other half lives..when people hear CPS they assume it is something the parent did wrong..they cant fathom that we would have a corrupt system such as CPS..but there is a lot of corruption involved..and no one expecially any cps workers want to

admit that.but I want to remind you all that when we tell people docters are harming children with their vaccines how is the reaction of mainstream society??? people dont believe us.!!!!!!! so I beg you all to think about how CPS is treating many single parents who have sick kids . and that just like the docters are wrong in their belief in vaccine safety.. cps is wrong in many of their cases against parents.I have heard the arguement they are there to help the child...but how can they help the child when they dont know what is best for the child? anyways any single parents out their never never mention your kids diet to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!or you have a chance to be investigated by CPS expecially if your house is dirty.channa

hi channahugs to you and cudos to you and your fight. no matter what anybody assumes a you know what you are doing and your son knows. soon the whole big world will know.i pray for it.
