Guest guest
Hi everyone,.......well my sabbatical is over and I'm ready to rejoin the group again and participate on a regular basis. Its been a long time since I popped in and said "Hi", and to share whats been going on with me. So pull up a chair, get some "coffee", and read on.....lol... :-) A few years ago I received yet another illness dx called Dercums which is a fat disorder, and then last Oct. I was dx'ed with Diabetes. So all in all, I have MS, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Hypothyroidism, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, and the 2, I mentioned above. I am telling you trying to figure out what ones were causing what symptoms were driving me crazy, because they all have overlapping symptoms, so I never knew what was what. So I decided I needed to get in touch with how my body was reacting, and I dropped out of touch with all my groups until I knew how I could relate to each one. Well, I think I finally know now what symptom belongs to which condition. So I'm back, and I feel like I can contribute a little bit of knowledge about MS, and hopefully help others by saying, yes that sounds like MS. Before I just wasn't sure, ya know? So let me tell you [i'll try and not make this too long] what symptoms I know are MS for me. Fatigue that is the type that happens when you just can't take another step, and you just have to lay down. A nap revives me enough to continue on. I am now taking 2 a day, whereas before I only had to take 1. And I haven't even increased my activity, and really that has decreased because my walking is so painful I dread each time I have to get up and move at all. I have spasms, and contractions that are very sensitive to sudden movements, and some times it happens one right after another. Mostly up my right foot/leg/thigh and the rest of that side, but my left leg is just starting to have some contractions too. IF I concentrate really hard I can stop it before it goes full blown. I can't in my right side very well anymore. It hurts when it happens and my leg/knee/foot goes into a contortion that pulls the tendons, and ligaments, and then it takes weeks for everything to heal up. This is for you Sharon......[well anyone really] but I know I am going into a flare when my eyelid starts to twitch when I am stressed. This is new for me, and its the upper lid and at times it feels like its folding over on itself. Weird, but that to me is the nature of MS. Weird symptoms that no one can explain fully, unless you've actually experienced it. Also I have more contractions when stressed, and even though I take a muscle relaxant I can't take high enough doses to make much of a difference anymore. I can't take high doses anyhow, so maybe a high dose would help. I take opioid pain meds, and have had to increase it slightly lately. I am thinking a lot about getting my medical marijuana card, because they have it in forms other than smoking that is suppose to be very effective for controlling spasms, and pain. I'd like to get off the chemicals, and see if there's any difference in my symptoms, and if it will help me be more active. So thats it for this letter, just really an intro and to say Hi, again, and hope to hear from old and new members alike. If there's anything I can help you with, please ask me. :-) p/s Mitzy I never heard back from you, and I wondered what happened to you? Are you still in Oregon? Guest guest
Thanks Kate,......it can become very overwhelming to have so many things going on in your body you have to take care of. It doesn't leave much time for many other things. Its exhausting too. But, I try not to fight it and just accept that it is what it is, and live my life the best that I can. Sometimes I get really frustrated with it all, but most the time I just try and do things to be comfortable. I'm glad I connected back with you all, I've missed being involved here. :-) Hugs and Love, Jackie May the peace of God be with you...the love of Jesus enfold you...and the Spirit of Christ fill you. Guest guest
Well in my heart I never left any of you here, its just been a hard last few years trying to come to grips with all that has happened to me. Sometimes it takes me awhile to get it all figured out, and I grow silent until I feel like I have something positive to contribute. Once I understand what is going on its a little easier to deal with things. Then I feel up to talking, lol....Don't get me wrong I'll probably do my fair share of grousing too, but at least now I feel better to try and help too. :-) My kids are doing okay. Grands are growing up much too fast, but if my son's empending marriage comes about next year his fiancee` wants 3 to 5 children!! YIKES!! But how cool is that to have more little ones running around. :-) Tinas baby will be 20 months in a few months, and he is a monkeyboy and so so sweet, but has a te. I'll post new pictures of everyone soon. Hubby Steve was dx'ed with fibromyalgia plus his Lupus, and we are just exploring the possibility of Agent Orange from the Vietnam war might be a cause of his illnesses. I think he has more going on besides those two conditions as he has been very ill. He's still working, but he just drags himself there and home everyday. I'd hate to think he had anything else, but if we can get a dx that the VA recognizes as a illness caused from AO, then maybe he can get on disability. I worry about him the longer he works and also has the responsibility of helping me too. :-( So, how is your family doing? Hugs and Love, Jackie May the peace of God be with you...the love of Jesus enfold you...and the Spirit of Christ fill you. Guest guest
Jackie, I am sorry to hear about your hubby you are both in my prayers. Hugs nne To the world you might be one person, but to one person you just might be the world""May the Lord Bless you and keep you,May the Lord Make his face shine upon you, and give you Peace...Forever"Breast Cancer Patients Soul Mates for Lifehttp://breastcancerpatientssoulmatesforlife.bravehost.com/ Anxiety Depression and Breast Cancerhttp://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/AnxietyDepressionandBreastCancerAngel Feather Loomerwww.angelfeatherloomer.blogspot.comThe Cancer Clubwww.cancerclub.com Long time checking in! :-) Hi everyone,.......well my sabbatical is over and I'm ready to rejoin the group again and participate on a regular basis. Guest guest
Jackie... do you see your grandkids often? Is Tina and baby living with you still/now? (my bad memory says she used to:) I hope your hubby gets the answers he needs quickly. Agent Orange is responsible for a lot of disabilities, isn't it?My family is all doing well. Challis and her family are about 10 minutes away from me. Her girls come over often and stay for a week at a time but the boys (20 and 23) don't really want to spend that amount of time at grammas house. lol My son and his family are also doing good. I live with them and I take care of the kids when the parents are at work. My son's cactus business is not faring too well in this recession/depression. He rarely gets any work from that but he is selling firewood here on the mountain and is extremely busy with that.I am SO glad you are back on group!hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. You have sure been through a lot, haven't you? It sounds like you are "setting in" with your various dxes as much as a person could do so. So how are the kids/grandkids? love you SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
