Guest guest
Awww, Kate, I'm sorry. That sucks. :-( It's been two weeks. And it's terrible. Tonight he threw up for 20 minutes after his dose. We've tried everything to mix it. I need to treat my child within reason. My sweet baby Wyatt, he's only 3. -- Toni------Mind like a steel trap...Rusty and illegal in 37 states.
Guest guest
i believe the body has its own wisdom , sometimes if a kid has a bad reaction like that it may be not what the body needs at that time.. channa To: mb12valtrex Sent: Tuesday, November 8, 2011 6:46 PMSubject: Speak fish oil It's been two weeks. Guest guest
I would talk to your doctor about another option. Is he able to take gel capsules yet? Cathy > > It's been two weeks. Guest guest
Try non-fish EFA's. Like borage/flax/evening primrose. They are soooo sooo important but pointless if the poor little guy is throwing it up : (-TammyTo: mb12valtrex Sent: Tuesday, November 8, 2011 6:46 PMSubject: Speak fish oil It's been two weeks. Guest guest
Is it the taste that's bothering him or is he throwing it up some time after he swallows it?If it's the taste and he can tolerate soy, then you could try those Nordic Naturals fish oil gummy berries thingies. My son loves those. He hates the taste of fish oil and he throws up because he hates the taste. So, maybe these gummy things don't have as much as Speak, but you could just give more, better that he keeps it down than have none at all. But, if he's throwing it up some time afterwards, it might be that it's not going anywhere inside him and actually makes him feel sick. He may have a problem breaking it down? I would try giving the oil with carnitine because carnitine helps with fats metabolism and, for my kids, at least, it helps Maia to actually absorb and use the Vit E instead of building up to high levels where it can cause all kinds of problems because the levels are high but it's not going anywhere because it's fats soluable and just gets stored unused in body fat. The problem with Vit E metabolism not working is that the brain is comprised of 90% fat and guess where a lot of Vit E is going to wind up if it can't be metabolized. I believe this is why *some* kids get seizures on Speak...and others who can absorb and metabolize Vit E have no problems with it. It's been two weeks. And it's terrible.
