Guest guest
And remember, when they give you a paper to sign be sure to read it. I well remember when I had surgery I had to remove all my clothing, jewelry, glasses, etc. and put them in a bag. The bag was given to my daughter who had accompanied me. Then just before they anesthetized me, after my daughter had gone to the waiting room with the bag , they handed me several papers to sign. I would not sign them until they returned my glasses to me so I could read them. They offered to read them to me but I said, " no, I want to read them myself. " Ora >I know that when you sign saying that it is OK to have medical students participate in surgery that they often actually PERFORM the surgery. I will never again have any surgery done in a teaching hospital. Has anyone ever watched Diagnosis X? It is on the discovery health channel and if it is for real at all, it shows that in teaching hospitals, care can get pretty sketchy. > >love, Molly >

Usually the forms are written in such a way that you 'think' you don't have a choice -- I've written on my form that Students may 'observe' but not participate... Hugs, Chelle Wonder if they followed through.... LOL
