Guest guest
Hi Dee, Yep, that’s me. I had to get a new internet connection as we got Verizon Fios high speed which is supposed to be so much faster! LOL – I sure can’t see any difference, it even seems slower now. Anyway I had to change my email address. It is funny how we get to be known by our email address or “handle” or “log-in”. – sometimes even more so than our own name. And yes – I am going on my eighth month post surgery. Still not doing very well, but keep my hopes up that I still will get better. My doctor tells me “time” and “patience”, as nerves do not heal quickly and it will be two – three years before he will consider my surgery a failure. The only part that was a failure was the vestibulectomy. It actually worked out great, and would be wonderful for the average woman, but mine was caused by the pudendal nerve over-firing, so the nerves grew back and I have it all back again. It lasted for about three months, and it was so wonderful – no pain, inflammation, the whole vulvar area was completely pain free. And for the average woman who has a vestibulectomy that is what the outcome should be. It was such a teaser for me when all the symptoms grew back. But I always want to tell women that the vestibulectomy surgery in itself was a breeze, barely any after-pain or recovery time. If I was the “average” woman with vestibulitis I would have it in a second, and anyone who is considering it – please email me for all the details. My doctor did a marvelous job – I would highly recommend the surgery. But he tells me as my pudendal nerve calms down, the nerves in the perineum area will also and I should get better in the vulvar area also, but in the meantime I am back to every gel, cream, magic potion I can find to try and calm the pain – it can be pretty brutal in that area. I am going to see a new highly recommended vulvar specialist in ten days. I hope she may have some new ideas. I was very dissatisfied with Dr. , she was of no help at all, and in fact I gave her some new ideas of treatment. Go figure – sometime’s the older specialists don’t keep up with the new technology. So again – glad to have to you back Dee – and I hope your computer problems are all a bad memory never to have their ugly head rise up again. And I hope you found a backup system in your fun time off. And I hope it was some fun time for you – although we all sure did miss you. There is no one that can research like you can – you are the queen! nne From: VulvarDisorders [mailto:VulvarDisorders ] On Behalf Of Dee Troll Sent: Sunday, March 30, 2008 11:55 PM To: VulvarDisorders Subject: Re: DEE/ email to neuropathic pain/slides HI nne...
