<Dee, have you heard of using Celebrex for VV? My doctor wants to try it.

HI Tina... ;)

Celebrex is for pain relief, often used for arthritis, and known as a cox 2 inhibitor..(expensive & a prescription). I know the FDA pulled the ads from TV a few yrs ago (might still be in effect as I've not noticed it being advertised) but not sure.

It's related to Vioxx.... the one they pulled off the market and lots of lawsuits hon as it was tied into some major heart and cardiovascular risks, even deaths. (both Vioxx & Celebrex double the risk).

My hubby used to be on that *till he met me* *smile* and has gone to Aleve (OTC) and he claims it works just as well, and some studies say it's a comparison to use but without the heart risks of Celebrex. (Naproxen is the active ingredient in Bayer's Aleve) so maybe that'd work?

I can't believe how that one's still on the market, (must have had some deep pockets) so it goes. But 'I' personally wouldn't take Celebrex but to each their own hon and some swear by it.

Dee ;)
