Guest guest
Our DAN just cautioned that all milk products contain antifolate antibodies that can increase this disorder and further inflame the brain. I really am not clear on this subject but thought I'd mention it. So much for the goats' milk yogurt! I am still thinking of trying colostrum, however, as it seems like the benefits may outweigh the risks on this point as it should contain such low amounts of casein. Can anyone recommend a type of colostrum that contains the least amount of casein? We used to use the Kirkman's liquid kind but from my recent readings the capsule form of it may be more beneficial for those who can swallow pills as it gets further into the GI reaping more benefits. Guest guest
We use the capsule kind from AOR and I really like ours and my daughter's starting to get colds now...it's been good for her immune system. Not sure about how much casein is in there, though. We use 2 caps a day. I just open the caps and mix it in apple sauce and she has no problem with the taste. I didn't know that about antifolate antibodies in casein, though. Glad you mentioned it. I had wondered before why folate discussions often discussed a dairy-free diet.
