my son is like this. for us it's sensory (oral sensory). i, like you, try to mainly give protein and veggies/fruit. been like this for YEARS. some pica also. helps when he chews on his bittey toy for the oral stimulation (and my son is 14 yrs old!) he has sort of outgrown the bittey thing but will use when i give for a while. i also put time restrictions on him. for instance, if he just ate a full meal, and of course, looking for more food, i tell him "no more food for now". i expl he has to wait and that he just ate. "NO MORE".

My son was like this, hungry all the time, he is in Gaps diet for 4 weeks. He is really good, still hungry but every few hours so it is normal. Does Dr. G's diet allow whey isolate protein drinks?We use Mix 1 drinks, perfect for some protein, all natural, made with olive oil.Get some kids/baby toothpaste that's fluoride-free so if he eats it, he's not being poisoned. :-(

Anyway, the protein drinks are nice b/c if you are tired and don't feel up to making another meal,you can get him to have one of those.Good luck. They are derived from milk but low enough in casein to be called " casein-free "

I have been having this problem lately and it is very tiring because my daughter

would wake up in the middle of the night and ask for food.

We are doing a gfcfsf diet, no sugar, no grain too. It has been few months so i

did not think because of the diet. I thought about parasite.

where can i get this Mix 1 drinks? Is it avaiable at whole foods?

Online at their website, Amazon, and I find them at my grocery, Publix, in the nutritional drink section, near uh, Ensure I think. It was nice to find it there b/c it's right across the street. Oh and they do have it at Vitamin Shoppe. It's pricey there, like 8$ for a 4pack

and online and Publix have it for 1-2$ cheaper. Are you in the UK? Whole Foods might have it.

My children have mito disease and when we put corn starch in the bottle at night for the little one and in juice for my older one it helps them sleep through the night with out being hungry. If and when they wake it is other issues since we started that. It's a common known trick in the mito community and cheap too.

I'm familiar with it even though I don't think I do anything for mito, but in México was common to give to the children some "atole" made with masa (used to be, not sure if still is, from non GMO dry grounded corn) mix with water or milk and pretty much anything you wanted like fruit or honey or whatever, the kids would be very satisfied at night time. mostly it was given at night, sometimes in the morning but usually early in the mornings was an egg yolk with some orange juice.SashaFrom:
