Guest guest
I am surprised that Dr. Q didn’t give you anything. He always either gave me Versed or a narcotic and Valium before any of my injections. Yesterday, I didn’t know what would happen and I knew I couldn’t stand the pain if she examined me internally, so I took my narcotic and valium right before I went into her office. I feel really bad that you never had anything and you had all that way to drive. I always have a large ice pack with me too. Does ice help you at all? When I was in the waiting room, I sat on the ice while waiting. I have the bubble flexible bags and my daughter sewed me some pretty covers for them, so I don’t mind taking them with me. nne From: VulvarDisorders [mailto:VulvarDisorders ] On Behalf Of Chelle Sent: Wednesday, April 09, 2008 1:52 PM To: VulvarDisorders Subject: Re: Estrace & Lidocaine nightly - nne ---> was: Missed diagnosis.... millburytimes wrote: >>>>Chelle, I always mix the two together - every night, sometimes I add emu oil too. I hope it works for you. It deadens the area a little for me, but it is no permanent cure, and lasts only a few hours, that is why I am having the injections. I have a very sore spot at the entrance to the vagina – one of the areas’s which they did yesterday. I didn’t find it too bad – better than what I expected, but then again I took my med cocktail right before hand – a pain pill and valium. Marinane, I cannot count the times I have 'asked' for some meds to help me through all the blocks or injections and I have never gotten anything - not one time! I'd say that's why the injection last week was so painful...*ugh*. I asked if we could use some Lidocaine first - but Libby said it would take awhile for it to numb me - and we had a five hr. drive ahead. Do you have the Lidocaine compounded? I can tolerate the 2% lidocaine and even Libby said that the 2% is very mild. It's the 5% that I've had trouble with. The 5% is what was used in the studies of the overnight cottonball treatment (I think it was at Chapel Hill, NC). My compounded Lidocaine was delivered today. Pete (at Bellevue) said that if this bothers me at all, to let him know and I could try a soothing base of my choice, like aloe vera or emu oil, etc. Hugs, Chelle
