Guest guest
Hey all...here's a question. For the past, oh probably week, I've been having a new weird kind of vulvar pain. It's right in the front, above my clitoris, kind of where the bone ends in the middle, if that makes sense. It's not skin or outside pain, but feels more like a pulled muscle. I notice it only a little during the day but a lot when taking a walk or if I've been in bed while and then it hurts a lot when I move to get up. Very odd. I have lichen planus which affects my clitoral area but has never felt like this. I am 20 weeks pregnant - should I just chalk it up to pregnancy like I do with everything else these days? Melinda =)
Guest guest
Hey Melinda, When I was pregnant with my first son, I had several 'odd' pains. I had ligament pain from everything 'stretching' to accommodate my growing baby & me too! I had an instance where I thought I had a UTI, but again, it was just the ligament pain. If it bothers you too badly, I would call your mid-wife. Hopefully she can help you determine what it might be. I called my doc's nurse often...(I'll never forget her name -- "Marie". She probably thought I had her on speed dial! One more thing, the genital area really becomes engorged with the increased blood volume and that can cause pressure, too. Hugs, Chelle

Guest guest
I have an appointment with my midwife tomorrow - what's symphysis pubis? Melinda
Guest guest
I had a very similar pain when I was pregnant - all three times! Mine, like your's hurt while walking after being down for awhile. But the worst pain was when I was in bed and would roll over at night. I would sometimes scream out - woke my husband up all the time. It got worse as I got farther along in my pregnancies. My doctor said that it was the pelvic bones beginning to seperate. I thought that was a little high up to be the part of the pelvis that needed to separate - but after I had my children it went away. I ended up having 3 c-sections though, because my pelvis didn't seperate enough! Hope you get better! K <<For the past, oh probably week, I've been > having a new weird kind of vulvar pain.
