Guest guest
Emma I can feel your pain, its like your doing good one minute and boom out of nowhere your hurting again. My opinion is that its not a yeast infection, sounds like an allergic reaction of some sort. The only way you'll know for sure is if you go to your doctor and get a culture done. In the meantime, I don't recommend you using any anti-fungal creams, take another diflucan if need be. Take a bath in Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment (fragance free) for a couple days. Do you have emu oil by chance? When I get a rash or an itch on the outer skin, I apply emu oil on it for a few days and the inflammation/itching subside. ~~ Flare-up, or Yeast Infection? Hi all, Things have been going so smoothly for a while using the E & T gel. The skin was looking close to normal, itching, burning was low. Then Monday by evening things starting looking angry red in the vestibule. I continued treatment and noticed a very distinct margin of reddness compared to normal skin. The patches of redness spread over the next few days, accompanied by extreme itching and burning and stinging. It has never been this bad. Discharge is minimal. I went to my useless gyno here in NYC and she said it looks like a chemical burn - like literally the skin has been rubbed off. It feels like someone is rubbing lemon on papercuts. I called Goldstein and he said, based on the red margins that it sounded like yeast. I don't even know if I ever had a yeast infection. Does this sound like one? I took a Diflucan at 4pm yesterday. What are your thoughts? I am so depressed and in pain today. I need some support. Thanks, Emma Get the MapQuest Toolbar, Maps, Traffic, Directions More! Guest guest
HI Emma sure sounds like Yeast to me too hon.. 'I'd' stay away from the E & T for now too hon till you get that cleared up, as they sure can co-exist and don't forget yeast can be 'topical' and doesn't have to come from inside the vaginal canal. (you mentioned no discharge) Just like men get 'jock itch' it's basically the same thing. it can grab anywhere it's hot, damp, dark and sweaty.. even under pendulous breasts. Often those anti-yeast meds OTC...(like tinactin, or Lamisil) can be applied topically on the tissue if it is that and maybe a Diflucan isn't needed necessarily (that would be systemic for one coming from the vagina or in the vagina) but it sounds like it to me too for what it's worth, especially with it spreading... How I remember those days..and WOW I know how those can burn... YIKES... I never had the itch with one but some do.. with me it was like I was on FIRE... Good luck hon and hopefully if it is that, it's gone PDQ. Just my two cents on it. Dee ~ Flare-up, or Yeast Infection? Hi all,Things have been going so smoothly for a while using the E & T gel. Guest guest
Thank you Dee. It makes logical sense that a yeast doesn't have to be in the vaginal canal, but in the external tissue itself. I never thought of it that way. Wow, imagine thats what this whole thing is in the first place? I am going to take a Valium, as I am stressed and I am learning to take medication that helps, and go out to dinner with 2 good friends, one of which has just lost her dad to cancer. IT will take my mind off my pain for a few hours, and I can focus on comforting my friend. I will keep you all informed of my progress, and serioulsy, thank you for your responses and support today. I really needed it.
