Guest guest
drooling ,rash around mouth from licking lips was for me a sign of mercury toxicity for my son. ... To: mb12valtrex Sent: Wednesday, November 23, 2011 5:02 PMSubject: Withdrawals? Reactions? Hi everyone!!! I hope this holiday week finds u and your kiddos well! Last week Dan doc took Wyatt off egg, garlic, soy and peanuts due to findings from his bloodwork. Been GFCF for 2 months. Also upped speak fish oil to twice daily and added Biotin. His symptoms have been worse this last week and he has a dry skin rash around his mouth and his neck. We emailed pics to doc and he said the rash is unrelated. I thought it might be from the Speak spilling out bc he fights it big time. Do the worsening symptoms seem normal to you all? I guess my question is why is he getting worse? Any advice or input as usual is greatly appreciated. I can't wait til I can offer some myself. Xo

Guest guest
Removing soy and peanuts is the equivalent of starting the Low Oxalate diet. Taking oxalate out of a diet that was otherwise highcan create a detox. This detox can look like " yeast " or " regression. " It can be pretty ugly :-) There are a few reasons this happens. When oxalate intake is lowered, it activates/alerts the body's cells that it is " ok " to release some of the storedoxalate from its cells. Oxalate is a poison that comes from plant foods. In general a normal healthy intestinal atmosphere can handle oxalate and remove it. Our kids in general do not have that " healthy gut " and therefore our kids are more susceptibleto absorbing oxalate. (Oxalate is degraded by healthy bacteria - VSL#3 scientifically proven to degrade oxalate, but has strept strain so many folks decide not to use it)Anyway, the cells say " hey now would be a good time to get rid of this toxin because the toxic state of this body has decreased somewhat. " So, the cells release a little oxalate, but while oxalate is circulating, it is binding up with all sorts of metabolically useful things, like minerals (oxalate loves magnesium, calcium and zinc) and also to get in and out of cells, oxalate likes to ride on the PST transportermechanism (uh, sorry not a biochemistry major, don't have all the scientific terms down) The PST transporter " guys " help transport sulfur and help metabolize the phenols and salicylates our kids become sensitive to.The biotin can help.Kate, you're seeing Dr. Berger right? He is an advocate for the LOD; if you look on his website he has a link with info. If I've got the wrong doc, my bad. Hi everyone!!! I hope this holiday week finds u and your kiddos well!
