My son is 4 years old and he will not sleep he usually wakes up around 2am and

is wide awake and up until 5 am before he falls back to sleep. I give him

melatonin but it doesn't seem to work at all anymore. Any ideas how I can get

him to sleep threw the night?

He sounds like my son 7mths ago, until we discovered Epsom salts, now he will sleep 9-11hrs and not wake.We put a cup in as warm the as he can manage and leave him for 2mins. If he has not used it b4 might b good to start wth half a cup or less and build up to the cupSent from my iPhone

We tried everything, melatonin, 5-htp, Zen, GABA, magnesium, epsom salt bath, diet change, exercise 2 hrs. before bed, corn starch in his bottle. Nothing worked after a year and a half of that we went to prescription sleep aides. He started to build up a tolerance and we'd have to give more to get and keep him to sleep. I was driven by how get him to stay asleep through the night. After about 2 years on the SCD diet I finally got them scoped. My kids needed more than what a diet and supplements could do. Even IVIG never helped his sleep. But steroids to address the sever gut issues is what has worked for us. No more prescription meds to sleep. I still give calming supplements at night but steroids is what worked here.

I've also read that nightime waking could be sign of adrenal insufficiency. To: mb12valtrex Sent: Thursday, December 1, 2011 11:46 AM Subject: RE: No Sleep

Oh - also want to mention that time-released melatonin, vs the regular, helped me to stay asleep better. Ruth Sent from my iPhone
