Guest guest
Hey everyone,......I don't know if this is an MS thing or not, and hopefully someone can shed some light on these symptoms that have been plaguing me for just about a year now. Every day around 4 pm I start to get freezing cold. All the body parts that aren't covered turn to ice. I usually lay down around 6 pm, and of course I am warm under the covers, except lately my upper body has been shivering even under the covers. I sleep for an hour or so, then up until around 11 pm I stay cold. After 11 pm, its like someone lights a match under me, and I feel the warmth coming back into my hands, and the rest of the cold areas. I stay warm again all the way until the next day and the whole cycle starts over again right at 4 pm. I'm thinking its hormonal, or something to do with menopause, circadian rthyms, diabetes, thyroid, neuropathy, my heart or ??? Another new thing is I'm falling asleep every day now at 1 pm, and I never use to do that either. Any ideas? I've searched and searched for answers and I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced any of this too? I will see my PCP about this, but she probably won't have any answers either unless something shows up on a blood test. Hugs and Love, Jackie May the peace of God be with you...the love of Jesus enfold you...and the Spirit of Christ fill you.
Guest guest
When you get warm again, would you describe it as getting overly warm/hot, or just as a return to normal temperatures? Not that I know if that makes any difference in what it might be, I was just wondering.I think that it could be MS related. The exacerbations has had that has involved loss of senses/going numb, have often (but not always) started with the affected parts getting inexplicably cold (not just feeling cold to her, but actually being cold to the touch). So, it seems to me, MS could play with the temperature as well as with all the other fun things...On the other hand, it could be so many other things too. I think the best thing to do might be to look for answers as widely as possible, so seeing your PCP first, rather than your neuro, is probably a good decision. love/Reb----original message----Hey everyone,......I don't know if this is an MS thing or not, and hopefully someone can shed some light on these symptoms that have been plaguing me for just about a year now. I honestly don't know if symptoms like this are MS. However, I do know my own 'thermostat' is screwed up and a friend of mine, who also has MS, has this problem too. Since we are both postmenopausal we agree that hormone imbalances are also a possibility. *sigh* Who knows? Dee
