Guest guest
Hi, My daughter (6 years old) was given 2 mg. steroid for anti-inflammation. My worry is my daughter is also taking antibiotics and anti-fungal and anti-viral. Steroid may lower her ability to fight infections (with already low immune system). Any comments on this: positive or negative or anything, I'll take it. I read Cassandra's post and I was comforted since I hesitating to give the steroid. I'm wondering if you are also giving antibiotics/anti-fungal/anti-viral? The doctor says though that this dosage is very low. What your's dose? How old your child? Thank you very much. THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE TO ALL FOR GIVING THEIR OPINION. Aside from Cucurmin, are there natural anti-inflammatory that works best for your child? Nothing worked after a year and a half of that we went to prescription sleep aides. He started to build up a tolerance and we'd have to give more to get and keep him to sleep. I was driven by how get him to stay asleep through the night. After about 2 years on the SCD diet I finally got them scoped. My kids needed more than what a diet and supplements could do. Even IVIG never helped his sleep. But steroids to address the sever gut issues is what has worked for us. No more prescription meds to sleep. I still give calming supplements at night but steroids is what worked here. Guest guest
The steroids came with a description of the drugs that shouldn't be taken with it. The only one we were on was the anti fungal. So I stopped that. We've not been on anti virals for 2 years but I do use OLE, OoO and Lysine as supplements. The boys had IVIG from Jan-June for PANDAS and still take zithromax once a week. Check with your pharmacist on any and all meds. We just dropped prednisolone (sp?) and are still on entocort 2x's a day plus a non steroid anti inflammatory called pentasa 3x's a day. My 2 little ones are 5 and 7. The one with the sleep issues was the 5 year old. We have trouble with enhansa because of phenols. We can give a bit occasionally now because we've healed some but not the way others can give it. I hope that helps Casandra To: mb12valtrex From: aberilasin@...Date: Wed, 30 Nov 2011 02:00:01 +0800Subject: Attn: Casandra Re: steroid -Pls. help everyone Hi, My daughter (6 years old) was given 2 mg. steroid for anti-inflammation.My worry is my daughter is also taking antibiotics and anti-fungal and anti-viral.
