Guest guest
Who are way way too much like children... I have a brand new couch (this year back in the spring.. got it on clearance for $170 yet to boot).. that NO HUMAN, that lives here, gets to sit on.. EVER.. naptime, if on the couch, includes one Boxer at the foot and the other Boxer behind whoever is (JOHN) trying to nap there.. Both are sprawled out there now (Buster left his normal position, which is UP my butt) because of the frequent nature calls with this diuretic.. which in turn imposes on his " restful " sleep cause he's got to move so many times in the morning.. (once the trips stop for the day, he'll be back UP my butt AND wanting a blanket!).. [buster also heads for the couch, if I'm the one feeding them in the morning.. or getting my own lunch from the kitchen.. guess he figures that it's easier to just sit up there where there is NO chance of being run over by a power chair, whereas he's got to watch my every move if I'm in the chair and he's on the floor] Now.. there is a " NO Licking... NO scratching " rule in this house.. NO licking cause it could cause a hot spot.. I'll rub it if it's bothering you and you feel you need to lick it.. my rubbing won't cause a " hot spot " .. and the NO scratching is because those nails of their are sharp.. and I've seen the holes they can tear in themselves if left to scratch.. so I " ll scratch for them, whatever needs scratching.. just bring it over here.. LOL So.. just as I'm noticing Zucco (Zoo-ko) licking his front paw.. and I'm about to say STOP licking.. I notice Buster looking at me from the other side of the couch.. (I must not have noticed Zook licking quick enough).. But he's laying there looking at me with eyes that are saying.. Just like a kid would But MawAWawAWawAWawMmmmmm!!! You yell at MeeeEEEeeeeEEEE when I do that!!! Why aren't YoooUUUuuuu yelling at HiimmMMMmmmm???? Soon as I say Zucco STOP licking.. Zook put his head on the arm of the couch to pout... just like a scolded child.. and Buster put his head back down on the couch and curled back up and started snoring.. so very pleased with himself that he got his brother in trouble... I give up!!!! LOL I really did think I was past the child rearing stages of life.. LOL HUGS |)onna

Guest guest
Oh I Do so very much love having them Kate.. They keep me company on the long days at home alone.. and if one pays attention and listens.. they talk.. no verbally.. but they talk... Buster will make a harumph sound when you ask him the right question on what he wants.. will shift his eyes to say.. Nope.. didn't get it this time.. try again you silly woman...if you didn't hit on the right question.. And he comes to me around 9 at night (and about 10 in the morning too) asking to go back to bed for a nap.. Zucco on the other hand.. he's always going to be a "puppy" because of the starvation he lived through for the first two years of his life.. but he's got such cute puppy ways.. He bounces on his front paws, like a puppy, and gives a little bark.. Now he does this facing me.. because he knows that I'm going to turn to and tell him that Zucco needs to go outside.. so following his bark, while looking at me, he'll sit down and look at waiting for his response.. if he doesn't get one.. he'll bark at me again.. wait for me to once again tell that Zucco needs to go outside.. and if 's in a mood.. he'll harass Zucco by ignoring me.. waiting for Zucco to get more insistent... he doesn't torture him for too long.. and Zucco just loves to play that game as well.. sometimes he doesn't even have to go.. Thing is.. when is home.. Zucco will tell us he has to go 50 gazillion times an hour.. or day.. but when they are here alone with me.. then don't run me to the door as often.. LOL.. smart puppies.. It is NADM around here (Never A Dull Moment).. has been for the last 10 years.. HUGS |)onna Oh the trials and tribulations of owning dogs! You really have a close-knit family of creatures, however. Guest guest
my MIL's Purina setter had a game with the yard squirrels in the fall - you walked out from the garage to a patio with a seat wall and then steps to the ground - walk out basement Old Rock sat so his chin was on the seat wall - he would wait until the squirrels were about six - 8 feet from the back trees - then he would bound off the patio - over the seat walk of 18" plus and down the six feet to the yard and almost catch them and they would fly up the tree and "talk" to him back to the patio and the game was on again he also liked to be friendly - I would lay down on the chaise or put my feet on the seat wall - I would start drifting off and plop - I would look down and Rock would have his head on my thigh looking beseechingly up at me for a love he was so laid back - Mom pulled him through heart worms in 1970 - he was a lover my sister just told me Arwin - Big Girl Schnauser - went awol this morning - another project for her husband or most likely Harry when he gets home - plug the hole in the fence Brat Kat is in her nest of plastic sacks here in the den dead to the world - until Harry rings the bell after lunch to work on the puter God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there.
