Guest guest
I just watched a movie on netflix (old dogs, with Robin and Travolta...funny!), put some chicken thighs into the marinade and will grill them if the weather co-operates. If not, I'll shake & bake them. Right now it is looking VERY stormy out there! ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ -- update time What's going on with each of you this fine weekend? What's new? Guest guest
Hi Sharon!I always love when you have 'update' time! It gives us each an opportunity to share.I'm tired. Could be from MS< but it is probably from the fact that hockey has begun...oh, I went to the gastro guy on Friday. I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome< not to be gross!) So, there isn't a heck of a lot to do about it. But as with MS, stress is not a friend of IBS.I'm right at this moment making BBQ ribs. and I made guacamole, so we'll have that with the ribs. Chocolate pudding for dessert.love you Sharon, and all ya all,Kate update timeTo: Group > What's going on with each of you this fine weekend? What's new? > How are you > feeling? Guest guest
Well, slept a lot this weekend. Body is just not keeping up with what I want it to do! Dinner just came out of the oven; baked beans, baked pork chops and scalloped potatoes. Took my son to the traveling Vietnam Wall yesterday. He is only 8 so doesn't quite get its meaning but he will one day. Other than that has been a quiet weekend. Love to all of you! And Donna, thanks so very much for all the info on Copaxone!!! I love you so much for it!!Tammy, TxSent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerrySender: MSersLife Date: Sun, 12 Sep 2010 14:03:18 -0700 (PDT)To: Group<mserslife >ReplyTo: MSersLife Subject: update time What's going on with each of you this fine weekend? Guest guest
We had a four day religous holiday starting from last thursday and there was a rush in the house since my daughter Deniz came to be with us for the holiday and my mom started to cook the things she loves to eat. There was a joy in the family...We often went sightseeing around the region, had nice lunches and dinners , had plenty of fun with her. And yesterday morning she returned to Istanbul for there was a referandume in Turkey you might of read about. Also last night there was a World cup of basketball between USA and Turkey and ofcourse USA became worlds best and Turkey the second best!! Thats all for now.. Guest guest
Sharon, It was a grand weekend around here.. I did get to go outside.. I think on both Friday & Saturday.. and NOT worry about the heat.. the sad part of that is.. I'm soon going to be worrying about the BRRRRRRRRRs! Not looking forward to be penned in the house before too long.. Supposed to be a bad November & December from what I hear.. Not much new.. actually not anything new.. Feeling? Hmmm.. tthe Copaxone is working.. balance is still a bit off.. but the Copaxone is working well enough for me to know that I AM going to have to call the orthopedic surgeon, more than likely, concerning my knees.. that fall I had March before last.. just before, most likely the beginning of that flare last year.. The pain in my left knee (with the partial tear of the ACL) is all but gone.. The right knee (that wasn't x-rayed or MRI'd, cause the left was most painful).. is giving me all kinds of fits.. at least the pain there would indicate a Menicus tear, or partial tear.. that one should be easy to fix.. I think.. though I'm not sure that it's all that necessary TO fix.. I just want it to stop hurting.. maybe the Lodine will do that for me.. PCP prescribed it for the hip pain that I get, if I spend the day sitting on the bed, instead of a chair.. and sometimes by evening even setting in the chair.. Arthur I'm sure.. maybe all it will take is this stronger NSAID to stop all this stuff.. PCP was quite interesting last week when I saw him.. maybe the running behind in appointments by almost 2 hours.. maybe the steady flow of firemen and EMT's into the back office after one of his appointments LEFT before being seen and promptly pulled out, on a major highway, in front of a large pick-up truck.. causeing a steady flow of firemen and EMT's in and out of the exam room area of the office.. Or maybe he just figured there was no sense in arguing with me about what I wanted.. LOL.. When I asked for a script for Xanax (for the recent panic attacks).. he said.. OK.. how many??? I'm like.. WHOA!!!.. So I replied.. the last script you wrote for those was January 2009.. it was for 50 pills and I just took the last half of the last one last week.. How many do you think I need?.. LOL.. he wrote the script for 50 again.. Maybe it was a test.. old neurologist would only write for 15 at a time.. max.. (even though I told him that I had to break them in half, cause a quarter milligram was just too much in most cases.. just need to get the panic under control, don't need to completely veg out).. THEN he asked me what I wanted for the pain in my hips??? I told him that I am be pretty sure that it's Arthur.. and that was caused by the way I walk to start with.. and I wasn't asking for a narcotic.. just something for the pain.. he suggested Lodine.. I said that would be okay.. Not sure if he was frazzled or it was all a test.... Staying busy.. Runescape dungeoneering over the weekend.. kid came over to get me to the dentist today.. and he wants to get to level 60 (I wouldn't mind either) so marathon playing Saturday night, and yesterday.. and most likely when he gets back from taking to work this morning.. but as usual.. I'm still working on putting together music CD's for my buddy at the SS office.. all the stuff he's got recordings of on Cassette Tapes.. that's keeping me stepping and fetching in some cases.. and making him a clip of Doogie Houser (Neil & the Glee Club coach from "Glee") doing a cover of Aerosmith's Dream On.. (which in my opinion is even better than Aerosmith's version).. Had to try and remember how to edit then render video to do that one.. LOL... Lots of things I'd like to try and accomplish.. just not enough time in the day to do them.. For dinner? LOL.. I'm on the "gotta loose this weight" kick again.. and eat healthier and stuff.. so Salads.. without dressing but Olive Oil & different vinegars.. a few seasonings (garlic powder, onion powder.. anything that doesn't add Sodium).. Soooo.. an awful lot of Fish & Chicken.. And unfortunately, only knows one way to bake fish.. LOL.. and I prefer LEMON.. he prefers onion.. so I reach for stomach pills after eating the fish.. Chicken is baked as well.. he's trying different "rubs" on those (Mal-Mart's frozen chicken breasts that can be had for a little over a dollar a pound.. are actually very very good.. and very very moist & tender when baked).. Not a REAL interesting in the culinary department.. but nourishing and healthier.. And yeah.. seems everything turns back to food these days... I don't remember having this much trouble figuring out what to have to dinner when I was raising the boys.. I do miss the big ole stock pot full of Ham, Cabbage & Taters.. or Ham, Green Beans & Taters.. won't do either of those.. so no sense making a stock pot full of it.. And that's about it for my update. HUGS |)onna update time What's going on with each of you this fine weekend? What's new? How are you feeling? What are you doing to stay busy? What's for dinner? Guest guest
That WAS a good movie... Have you tried http://www.ch131.com for movies & television shows? might have to wait on some of the movies for them to post a link for a half decent quality movie.. but not bad if it's something you really really really want to see, and someone sent them something recorded from a cell phone in the theater.. LOL.. And then there's the even better one.. who carry "links" to other sites that you wouldn't be able to access without the "link" provided (private server/storage type deals).. long URL on that one.. so it's best to type in "Project Free" without the quotes at Google.. it will be the first in the list.. All kinds of movies.. old and new.. and ALL kinds of television shows as well.. best way to catch up on previous seasons from something you've just started to watch.. like Desperate Housewives.. I'm ready to go when they get back this fall.. saw them all (drove nuts).. same for a lot of other shows as well.. I'm all for free when I can find it that way... LOL.. there's also http://www.hulu.com and http://www.fancast.com Hulu and Fancast did what I expected them to do.. went subscription on some of the stuff.. AFTER they got people hooked (Fancast is Comcast's version of Hulu).. and Comcast is quite notorious for putting channels in the "general" range of channel line-ups.. just until they get people really hooked on certain shows.. then move it to a higher band of channels so that you have to purchase more than Basic, and sometimes even more than Extended Basic to watch them.. Comcast already gets too much of my money.. are too darned quick to shut off services (they used to do it right after a bill was due.. and I think like me, a whole lot of people complained, and maybe even went somewhere else for service.. because they bill in advance.. how can I be past due on paying for something that I haven't received yet??? LOL).. I don't really need to pay 5 bucks plus all those "extra" fees on that 5 bucks to watch a movie that I CAN find online somewhere and watch for free.. or definitely less than $5-$10 [with all those fees]... And the phone service that was supposed to be $19.99 with all the bells & whistles too.. ends up being closer to $30.. and the bells & whistles don't work.. can't access my voice mail online.... Let them know that they aren't Vonage.. LOL HUGS |)onna update time What's going on with each of you this fine weekend? What's new? How are you feeling? What are you doing to stay busy? Guest guest
I'm a little behind, its almost time for the next update, but I'll try and remember a few things to share this time. My life isn't all that interesting anymore, so its the same 'o' same 'o' most of the time. Taking care of business, and living each day as it comes the best that I can. This last weekend we cooked a pork roast in the slow cooker, and its big enough to last the two of us for 3 days of meals. We add veggies, and applesauce the first 2 days, and then make the rest of the roast into a stirfry with teriyake sauce, mushrooms, broccoli, and dreamfield spaghetti noodles. We do the same type of thing with beef roasts too, only we have the usual potatoes and carrots, and no applesauce. It works with just the 2 of us. It helps Steve so he doesn't have to prepare anything big after he gets home from work, and I don't cook anymore. :-( I supervise now! lol.... I too have been extremely tired for a few months now, not sure why, but I'm taking 2 naps a day instead of my usual 1 before dinner. Around 1 pm I can hardly keep my eyes open, and its not like I've been up doing anything. So not too sure whats going on. Tomorrow, Wed the 16th is my g-daughter Skylars 9th birthday. We will have her party here at the end of the month. She wants to play drums, so I was thinking of ordering her one of those electronic drum pads. There's one that has 4 pads, sticks, and other musical genre`s to add to her drumming. My hubby Steve is a drummer, but his set is old school and too big for her. Besides its buried in the garage somewhere. [sigh] Guess thats it for me. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the Sept. b-days! :-) Akiba have you moved to FL? E-mail me and catch me up. I am so out of the loop I don't know whats going on much with any of you. I'm sorry I didn't keep in better touch, but the last 2 years or so have been really bad for me. Besides the home drama stresses, my physical health has gone down hill pretty fast, and so I've been fighting a lot of depression. Then there's the meno journey.........ACK!! Have a rest of the week good'un everyone! Hugs and Love, Jackie May the peace of God be with you...the love of Jesus enfold you...and the Spirit of Christ fill you.
