Guest guest
Dee, I don’t really think there is an answer to pain, or how others, or yourself feels pain. My friend who has PNE has electric shocks that knock her to her knees. You would just have to see it happen to her once, and you know that she is feeling something indescribable. My pain in not like that – it is kicked by a horse, deep seated, throbbing, sometimes hold your breath kind of pain. And it also varies from hour to hour, day to day, month to month. My pain today is not what it was when it started almost two years ago, nor what it was right before I had my surgery nine months ago. So, to put a name on it – for Carolyn, I wouldn’t even try to - for myself. nne From: VulvarDisorders [mailto:VulvarDisorders ] On Behalf Of Dee Troll Sent: Wednesday, April 23, 2008 4:34 AM To: VulvarDisorders Subject: Re: nature of pain Neuropathic pain, in contrast to nociceptive pain, is described as " burning " , " electric " , " tingling " , and " shooting " in nature. Does that help at all? (from the article you just sent nne) Dee
