Guest guest
Hi Donna,........you're still around the Spokane area? I wonder if your weather predictions are the same for all the PNW? It seems like our summer was rather mild, don't know if that means a harsh winter or not? Anyone see a "wooly worm? lol.... Your situation sounds a lot like mine. I stay in pretty much all year around, and only go out a few times a year. Either its too hot or too cold. Or I just don't have the energy to do much more than my regular hygiene duties every day. And that doesn't include shower bathing, etc. I finally got my feet soaked and nails clipped, hair washed, and thats about as far as we got this last weekend. Everything else is "spit bathed". Last time I fell 2 yrs ago I fell right on my knees on the hard floor. Mostly the right one. I never went to the Dr., thought it would resolve itself so I don't know what happened in there, but about 6 mo's later the pain was excruciating. Still didn't go to the Dr., and just kept putting pain relief creams on it, and resting it as much as possible. Finally I think whatever was hurt has resolved mostly as it doesn't hurt very much anymore. I still use bengay at night, and hang on to my walker table all the time now. I think I might have torn the meniscus as the pain was in the inside of the knee, and maybe the knee cap was bruised too. I hope its healed now. Good luck with yours too. [my hips are getting bad now too, and I'm sure its arthur settling in] :-( Nice talking to you again. Hugs and Love, Jackie from Oregon May the peace of God be with you...the love of Jesus enfold you...and the Spirit of Christ fill you. Subject: Re: update timeTo: MSersLife Date: Monday, September 13, 2010, 4:01 AM Sharon, It was a grand weekend around here.. I did get to go outside.. I think on both Friday & Saturday.. and NOT worry about the heat.. the sad part of that is.. I'm soon going to be worrying about the BRRRRRRRRRs! Not looking forward to be penned in the house before too long.. Supposed to be a bad November & December from what I hear.. Not much new.. actually not anything new.. Feeling? Hmmm.. tthe Copaxone is working.. balance is still a bit off.. but the Copaxone is working well enough for me to know that I AM going to have to call the orthopedic surgeon, more than likely, concerning my knees.. that fall I had March before last.. just before, most likely the beginning of that flare last year.. The pain in my left knee (with the partial tear of the ACL) is all but gone.. The right knee (that wasn't x-rayed or MRI'd, cause the left was most painful).. is giving me all kinds of fits.. at least the pain there would indicate a Menicus tear, or partial tear.. that one should be easy to fix.. I think.. though I'm not sure that it's all that necessary TO fix.. I just want it to stop hurting.. maybe the Lodine will do that for me.. PCP prescribed it for the hip pain that I get, if I spend the day sitting on the bed, instead of a chair.. and sometimes by evening even setting in the chair.. Arthur I'm sure.. maybe all it will take is this stronger NSAID to stop all this stuff.. PCP was quite interesting last week when I saw him.. maybe the running behind in appointments by almost 2 hours.. maybe the steady flow of firemen and EMT's into the back office after one of his appointments LEFT before being seen and promptly pulled out, on a major highway, in front of a large pick-up truck.. causeing a steady flow of firemen and EMT's in and out of the exam room area of the office.. Or maybe he just figured there was no sense in arguing with me about what I wanted.. LOL.. When I asked for a script for Xanax (for the recent panic attacks).. he said.. OK.. how many??? I'm like.. WHOA!!!.. So I replied.. the last script you wrote for those was January 2009.. it was for 50 pills and I just took the last half of the last one last week.. How many do you think I need?.. LOL.. he wrote the script for 50 again.. Maybe it was a test.. old neurologist would only write for 15 at a time.. max.. (even though I told him that I had to break them in half, cause a quarter milligram was just too much in most cases.. just need to get the panic under control, don't need to completely veg out).. THEN he asked me what I wanted for the pain in my hips??? I told him that I am be pretty sure that it's Arthur.. and that was caused by the way I walk to start with.. and I wasn't asking for a narcotic.. just something for the pain.. he suggested Lodine.. I said that would be okay.. Not sure if he was frazzled or it was all a test...
