It is unfortunate that these officers handled this child in this manner, but

their first duty is to keep the child from harming himself or others.

Fortunately, in Broward County the Sheriff's office has trained several of their

officers who work in the Baker unit to handle this type of situation. I would

hope that since they claim to have special training, the officers in that unit

of the Broward Sheriff's office would handle the situation in a better manner.
