Hi! I am 14 weeks pregnant and have my second yeast infection since finding out I am pregnant. The first time they gave me diflucan and it didnt go aways so they gave me terazol. Does that help get rid of it the rarer strains too? Is vagistat ok to use when pregnant? Thanks, DebbieDee Troll wrote: Just a thought for those of you who have recurrant constant chronic yeast infections, might be to try the VAGISTAT 'one' time

treatment. (OTC) If you're raw to begin with it will sting... but usually within24 hrs or so it's gone and so is the yeast. You may have one of the more rarer strains of yeast like the T. Glabrata one and neither the oral Diflucan NOR the ones you've mentioned like the Gynazole, will work on that. Those won't kill those rarer strains. (which are becoming more common by the way) The Vagistat is used not only for the more common Candida but ALSO the more resistant T. Glabrata strain. It's the one I always used 'just in case'. I figured Kill two birds with one stone, because you never know. I'd certainly give it a try if it were me and you "KNOW' (not guess) that what you have is a yeast infection and not a bacterial one. I would hope your physicians did cultures too. *Sigh* so so sorry you're going thru that.

One more thing would be to consider adding an oral antihistamine... as that helps fight the left over inflammation from those. (and itch if you have that) I never had the itch with mine but many do. *OUCH*......So so sorry. HugsDee
