Guest guest
Dr. 's office had me on diflucan weekly for a year. Yeah. I just stopped on my own and told them I was doing so - ridiculous. Didn't help at all. I have never had a yeast infection, ever. Melinda
Guest guest
Hi Melinda, just butting in to ask, I am curious since you have never had a yeast infection how did the vulvodynia start for. Guest guest
Poor Melinda, you too? *sigh*.... And you never had a yeast infection that whole time? . arghhhhhhhh That just makes me ill to think a doctor wouldn't run the tests, let alone the effects of those antifungals long term or worse to add erythromycin while on them so innocently... with the heart risks of combining an antifungals with an antibiotic. *groan* Dee~ ----- Original Message ----- From: spanishmiss430 Dr. 's office had me on diflucan weekly for a year. Guest guest
Hey Melinda, I just don't get it, why would she put you on Diflucan, especially for a year, if you never showed positive for a yeast infection? Sometimes, I wonder what is wrong with most doctors thinking. Do they think we want a Rx just for the heck of it. In her book, she wrote how the delicate balance of the vagina flora can be disturbed through using antibiotics and vaginal meds that can then lead to other problems with imbalance. On another note, there is probably not many of us that haven't been prescribed yeast meds whether we had an infection or not. I was a handful of times. When I was pregnant the first time, my ob-gyn prescribed one of the cream yeast meds...I didn't have an infection, it was vestibulitis. That cream set me on fire so badly, I had to immediately get in the bathtub and soak with tears pouring down my face. On another note, I hope things are going well for you and the baby, Melinda. Guest guest
Unfortunately, what Dr. writes and what she practices are two different things. It is like two different doctors. That is why I no longer go to her., nne From: VulvarDisorders [mailto:VulvarDisorders ] On Behalf Of Chelle Sent: Wednesday, May 07, 2008 1:07 PM To: VulvarDisorders Subject: Re: Re: candida allergy-Dee Hey Melinda, I just don't get it, why would she put you on Diflucan, especially for a year, if you never showed positive for a yeast infection? Guest guest
Dr prescribed a weekly diflucon for me also but it was to prevent yeast rather than to treat an infection. She did this because I was using cortisone vaginal suppositories 2-3 times a week and that can cause yeast. Kathy Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now.
