Guest guest
Sunday this week is election day here in Sweden. I will vote, of course. But I have tried to stay clear of debates etc., it's been a unusually irrelevant election campaign this year I think. And watching it will only get me headaches and gastric problems... But someone sent me a link to a televised questioning. Is that the word? all the national TV-stations have those with all the parties, I don't think interviews would be the right word, because that's not the word used in Swedish, and it's more formal than that. OK. Anyway, the message said I should watch the last minutes, where the left leader asked those doing the questioning (in these election related things they are not called interviewers but a word closer to interrogators, don't know what that would be in English either... apparently Swedish politics are hard to translate to English...) for " a last word", explaining that he had asked for that with another station but been denied it, and he would very much appreciate if he could have that. Then he goes on to propose to his girl friend on air, asking her to "make an honest man out of me". When a reporter asked him afterwards what, if any, reply he had got from her, he answered: "I don't know, I haven't dared to check my phone". But apparently, the answer was yes. Cute! In the midst of all election mud slinging...love/Reb
