Guest guest
> So, here's my question... if I have no side effects, > how is the dose of levoxyl too high? What does too high mean? Well, you may not feel any side effects now, but might in the long term. Most likely your TSH was well suppressed (should be <0.1 in thyca patients) but other thyroid function tests were out of normal range (T4, FT4, T3). Your Dr. probably thinks this lowered dose will continue to keep your TSH suppressed without putting the other results out of range. The side effects of being overly suppressed are annoying heart palpitations, insomnia and an increase in the chance of developing osteoporosis -- so it's best if you can be suppressed on the lowest dose possible. My Endo's thoughts on this are that the patient should be given the dosage necessary to replace the missing hormone plus a nickel's worth extra to suppress TSH. Makes sense to me. You should ALWAYS have your blood levels checked 6-8 weeks after changing doses, then get the results (written) and at least discuss the results with your doctor on the phone or by mail. Guest guest
I have got into the habbit of eating for breakfast. Cereal, you can get so many different varities. Sometimes I have a bagel with low- fat peanut butter and a coffee with 2% milk. Mix it up so you do not get bored with the food choices. It will be hard in the begining, but eventually you will get the hang of it. > > Hello, > I am new to this site and also doing WW at home. Guest guest
Hi Shirley--I'm a newbie, but I'll jump right in. Have you heard of www.fitday.com ? There they not only have a journal that you can chose if you want to be public, but you can also record foods eaten, exercise done, weight goals. It seems to know the cals for everything and calulates the cals burned for the exercise section. Hope this helps!-- Check out my weight tracker at: http://www.3fatchicks.com/weight-tracker/img/bar098/slider-lion/lb/325/140/293/ To be nobody-but-yourself -- in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else--means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.--E. Guest guest
I was reading in one of the files here that referred to The Modern Herbalist. Have any of you ever used his products for your V problems? I basically would like to know if they are any good since they are kind of expensive.
