HI Lee Ann. ;) Hon many here use the antihistamines (topical or oral) (like benedryl) as an adjunct helper for V pain. It can really be of benefit since it quiets down inflammation (and itch)... and slows down the 'histamine' output. (Just as it helps those who have allergies, so don't think of it as being used for an allergy med alone) It's the controlling of symptoms is where it helps.

Even with left over inflammation from a yeast condition, where the yeast is gone but we're still left with the inflammation because the body doesn't know it's time to quit fighting it and continues with that histamine output.

It's histamine (and other cytokines) that our body puts out that causes that inflammation in the first place, so it makes sense why it can help. It may even help with a stubborn painful headache as many have histamine headaches unbeknownst, (basically it's an allergy to the Self) but too often assume they're migraines. It was my miracle after a horrible month long headache where each breath made me scream with severe head pain, and one doctor was smart enough to suggest Actifed.. it was a miracle for me as it stopped it within 24 hrs. Finally relief. ;) And I'll use one with a bad yeast infection too (tho I rarely get them now)

Well worth trying even if you hate that dry cotton mouth, for the pain relief I'd put up with it for a short time, 'ain't' no doubt about it.

Just my two cents. :) Dee ~
