Guest guest
I hope you get your answers Carolyn. You have been searching for many months, and I just hope you are not disappointed. Take a list of questions with you so you don’t forget anything. And also remember he is only one doctor with his own opinions – that doesn’t make him right or wrong necessarily. If you went to another doctor, you might get another opinion – that is why they are called second opinions. I am just so afraid you are going to be disappointed – and I hope you aren’t. I will say a prayer for you that everything works out for you. I am not a doctor, but just from what I have learned in the past two years, it sounds like you have some nerve involvement, but if it is muscular and could be fixed with physical therapy, I don’t know that. If you went to PT and it did not help, then it would definitely show that it is not muscular. That is what happened to me. The only way I know anything about PN is through the readings of the EMG test, and some doctors do not believe in that test either. For me, the test showed something was going on – what doctor Conway said was that the test and his internal exam showed that the nerve was inflamed and probably entrapped, and he would not know for sure until he operated – and that would show how bad it was – hopefully it was not permanently damaged. During surgery, they do the EMG test to bring the readings down. My test during surgery showed it was much worse than he thought and I was entrapped on both sides. He did not know that before surgery. But as I said, not everyone believes in the surgery Dr. Conway does – he spent a year in France learning how to do it from the Doctor that developed it. He operates through the vagina, whereas the doctors in Arizona and Texas operate by cutting through the muscles in the butt. It is a big controversy on which is the right way. I chose Dr. Conway because I was incapable of travelling due to the pain, and Dr. Conway was only 90 minutes away from me. Also when I met Dr. Conway, I trusted him immediately. So, I hope you have the same experience with Dr. Goldstein and that he answers the questions you have been asking all of us for the last year, and he eases your mind so that you can go forward in your own treatment. nne From: VulvarDisorders [mailto:VulvarDisorders ] On Behalf Of Carolyn52192@... I get these odd shooting pains in my rectum, tonite I was walking and I could feel them, it sucks. I wonder how you can tell which it is- any thoughts. Im seeing Dr Goldstein in less than 2 weeks now, so hopefully I have a better understanding of whats going on C Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight? Get new twists on family favorites at AOL Food.
