Guest guest
I happened on a really interesting article about this syndrome and believe some of the women have this. I seem unable to copy it though. If you are interested and wish to read it, maybe if you googled the following you could bring it up and then read it. It has to do with the surgery called Roux N Y which is a gastric bypass surgery which seems to be doing all kinds of things that are good besides weight loss--like curing diabetes with the surgery itself and not the weight loss. Apparently it changes ones hormone system in certan advantageous ways. Who would thunk it? Too bad diabetics can't get the surgery unless they also have the weight?? Copy and google the following: Effective treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome with Roux-en-Y Arline
Guest guest
I had (HAD) a mild case of PCOS. Diabetes runs in my family. I wasn't "typical" as I'm not obese, don't have acne, facial hair, etc. I already exercised 4-5x per week. I kicked it up to exercising 6-7x per week and yoga for 10 min every morning. I had been on metformin and had amenorrhea for six months and was told I would need to stay on metformin indefinitely to regulate my periods. After a month or two of more exercise I went off the metformin and it's been seven months with regular periods PLUS ovulation confirmed by basal body temping and ovulation tests. Exercise has been a MIRACLE for me for PCOS. Lindsey
