Guest guest
, My nausea is generally associated with active Crohns. Specifically severe small bowel inflammation. I get total relief from Prednisone by the second day of a 60mg month taper. Hope you feel better soon!. Andi **getting prepared starting today for my first Remicade infusion (TB test first) Im a little nervous but if this works Iam going to be so overjoyed!** > In your experience is the nausea associated with the liver or the IBD (in my case Crohn's)? > Thanks > in Texas > PSC '
Guest guest
Andi: I loved Remicade. It worked wonderfully for me. I have refused the prednisone because of the side effects. I have taken entocort, and I'm on it now, but the side effects with it are not as bad. >>> " kxcp236v " 8/15/2007 8:55 AM >>> , My nausea is generally associated with active Crohns. Guest guest
, It's hard to say what the nausea is from, but I'm pretty sure it's from the liver. I have had an easy time of becoming nauseous for many years/decades, so some of it back then was probably from the Azulfidine for the UC. After the colectomy, the surgeon said to stop taking the Azulfidine (I thought that was wrong since I still had some large intestine left - and I was right). I recall that I had no nausea once I stopped the Azulfidine - headaches also went away. But in the last few years it hasn't much mattered what medicines I've been on - I get nauseous. I take compazine for the nausea. W/out the compazine I'd be throwing up and couldn't eat or work. But I'm on a fair amount of medicine now (imuran, prednisone, ursodiol, fosamax, calcium, flagyl), so some of the nausea can be due to medicines. In fact, I'm wondering if the ursodiol isn't causing some of the nausea. -Marie UC, PSC, AIH, J-pouch & pouchitis _________________________________________________________________ Puzzles, trivia teasers, word scrambles and more. Guest guest
Before my transplant I was having problems with low blood sugar. I didn't generally have nausea with it but the hunger/shakiness certainly does sound like it, as does the relief by eating. If it got really bad, my skin would also get cold and clammy. I was having to eat every few hours to keep it under control. My doctor said that it was pretty common for people with liver disease since your liver is involved with keeping blood sugar up. athan
Guest guest
For me, the nausea has been terrible at times and then improved. At one point my doctor put me on Marinol, which really helped, but made me a little loopy. I think it got me through a particularly rough spell. You might try it if your doctor is willing. Jeff PSC 1989 I do. It's terrible. Not as bad as morning sickness was but it is discouraging that I can't eat a cheeseburger or something with my family. Pretty much any hamburger is out of the question. Well, all meats except for chicken.I could go on but it is something I am struggling with right now. It's hard to eat healthy when everything makes you feel sick. from NEpsc dx 8/07 Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com.

Guest guest
Marie: I am currently on Imuran, Urso, Asacol, Rythmol, and Humira but they have never made me sick before. I am learning to work around it so that's good. I will talk to my physician about it in early September. I am thinking that it may be related to low blood sugar. Guest guest
athan: I think that this may also be related to blood sugar. I have noticed that an inability to concentrate is going along with the other symptoms. Not long after getting something to eat, I am back to my old self. I am scheduled for a doctor's visit in early September and I will talk to him about it then.
