amitriptyline and weight gain

Jen I think it helped me, if you monitor your eating, its not bad, but I think I got hungrier, maybe cause I was feeling better

I tried it 7 years ago. I gained 15lb. after going on it. I was tired all of the time from it. It was an awful experience. It did not stop the burning. I went off of it. I went on a special diet, started supplements and using estrogen and testosterone cream and I rarely have any burning or itching.

Hi< I just got an Rx for amitriptyline, I am already taking neurontin ,

and I just wanted to know, if anyone had any luck with amit? and how

much weight gain they had while taking the drug? the neurontin already

has already put on a few pounds and I just dont want to put on too much

weight for something that is not going to work, I know it sounds vein

but it is summer, and I do ot want to have to wear moo moo all summer..

So if anyone can give me what they have experienced with this drug, I

would much appreciate it..

I gained 12 pounds in about 6 months. I work out 5 days a week and still gained weight. It didn't help me at all, but neither did Neurontin.

I took Amitriptyline for 4 or 5 years and never gained any weight at all.

Side effects: it made me sleepy at first till I got used to it. It

made me very thirsty all the time.

Pain relief: it relieved the pain slightly.
