Guest guest
I was diagnosed with a " resistant strain of yeast " infection and vestibulitis at the same time. I was prescribed terazole to use for three weeks and estrace cream to use 2x daily. I was told to come back in a month so the nurse practioner (who's registered with the NVA and specializes in vulvar disorders) could do another culture to check if the yeast infection is still present. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my appt. but based on my observations I was pretty sure the yeast was still there. so, I ordered an all-natural product called " yeast arrest " that contains boric acid, calendula and another herb. I've read that calendula is good for healing mucous membrane problems (ex. vestibule) so I figured at least this product was worth a try. well, I've been feeling much better since using it! I think the overall burning was related to the candida glbrata (which is a difficult strain of yeast and often doesn't respond to " azole " creams. I still use the estrace and I'm not 100% pain free but I am definitely more comfortable. I also ordered 100% organic cotton underwear from gaiam.com and bought a high-quality liquid omega 3-6- 9 supplement to take orally once per day. it contains evening primrose oil, coconut oil, flaxseed oil and sesame and sunflower oil. it's not cheap, but I've noticed that since taking it I'm more " regular " and not sure if that is helping the discomfort. anyways, I did reschedule my appt. for mid-june so I'll know if the yeast arrest has killed the yeast by the culture results then.
