Guest guest
I'm looking for some advice on Medicaid and residential treatment from those who have gone before me. If this is best done privately, then please contact me that way. My PDD-NOS son is in desperate need of residential treatment for severe behavior problems and there is a Palm Beach treatment center/school that seems to be the best answer. However, the center will only take Medicaid. I am divorced and my son is on CMS Title 21 through UMBH, and an HMO through the EX's job. Neither will cover long term residential. Does my son need to be 'uninsured' in order to apply for Medicaid? I'm not really understanding how I can get him the help he needs. They make it so difficult! We were denied Medwaiver in " Crisis " because he is PDD-NOS not ASD. He's behavior is escalating as he is 11 and between the meds and the hormones it has become violent. He's been Baker Acted 2x already, and that was worthless too because they release him once he is 'stable', and he cannot be admitted anywhere else for long term unless we have Medicaid. Medicaid seems to be the golden ring, but I can't grab it.
