Guest guest
>>>Organic Valley butter is just okay--for pasteurized butter I prefer the Vermont Butter and Cheese Co. cultured over the Organic Valley stuff (tastes better too).<<< , I was wondering why you prefer the Vermont Butter over the Organic Valley, other than the fact that you mention the taste. BTW, whenever I buy Organic Valley I get the cultured. (I have other butter sources, also--mainly just use the OV for baking.) Guest guest
Bonnie, I didn't know the Organic Valley came cultured. I'll look at it again. I prefer the VT. Butter mainly because it tastes better, but also it tends to be more yellow than the OV, it comes in one big block (less packaging), it's cheaper, they don't use any hormones (but it's not certified organic), and all the milk is from local VT dairies (I think). OV seems like a bigger, more " corporate " style business. I might be wrong, but this is what I gathered when doing research on the two a few months ago. , I was wondering why you prefer the Vermont Butter over the Organic Valley, other than the fact that you mention the taste. Guest guest
, It is possible that in whatever store you find the Organic Valley butter, that they may only carry the sweet butter. I know that among stores in our area, some of them carry both kinds and some just one. I have always been sort of interested in finding out more about the Vermont Butter (and cheese) for recommending to friends who can't spend the big bucks on healthy food (not that I can spend *that* much myself!), but who do want to eat things that are a bit healthier. Guest guest
FYI-VT butter and cheese co. pasteurizes their goat cheese. I always buy " lait cru " goat cheese from France. ----- Original Message ----- From: bonnsunrise@...
