Guest guest
Hmmm...are you sure you don't have salicylate issues? The apple in those muffins would cause an immediate response here, including sleeplessness, and a stuffy nose (along with defiance and emotional behaviors.) Guest guest
Can u please explain the whole salicylate issues thing??? My son might have that bc he is insanely obsessed with apples. Wants them all the time!!! And he gets so aggressive when he eats them and if I don't give them to him. That's what I had to stop buying them all together. He would eat a bag a day if I let him. Guest guest
Channa, I am thinking if all this happened so fast then maybe it is some form of food allergy to one of the ingredients in the muffins. Does he have the yeasty behavior also? I have never been able to find any breads or muffins in the health food store which didn't have atleast one thing bad in ingredients. is > > > > so with all this talk about yeast..the yeast beast may have come to visit channas house...I am usually anal with my journal keeping on my son and careful vigilance to his diet...however with many legal issues and migraines I been slacking on biomed with my son...he is not recovered yet....so close but not ready to drop supplements or diet.. > > so yesterday i thought i would buy some gluten free muffins to be " a good mommy " > > now i remember why i hate gluten free products...in my house they are yeast feeders....two apple gluten free muffins...and he was tossing and turning...his nose completely blocked and woke up with white tongue. > > it could have also been a food allergen....I am trying to get back to the journal writing on all his symptoms....I was wanting to throw the book at him this morning and give him a bunch of supps...but i remembered what i keep telling you guys! so i only gave some GSE and lauricidin...of course i will be cutting down on the carbs..... > > need to sit down and reassess his treatment plan.... > > where we are whats workin whats not...we still have a lot of parasites to deal with and that doesnt even include the ones in his body > > >
Guest guest
you know alexis that makes a lot of sense...would two muffins cause an explosion of yeast behaviors over night? maybe it is more of a phenol reaction like cathy said... I have found if i detour from my sons diet just a bit we end up payin for it..he is not strong enuff to handle food infractions....I am goin to try and do just veggie soup for the weekend give his gut a chance to calm down and then try and reassess after that. we will be doin the bakin powder drink for sure tonight...i got some benedryl yesterday and noticed they dont make it in liquid anymore ...i dont know if it doesnt work as good the new way or if they changed the ingredients at all.. Guest guest
i know my son can not have friut...so maybe he has a salicylate issue..was never sure why he reacted so bad to friut..i always thought fructose malabsorbtion...i am thinkin my son was allergic to something in those muffins...i cant wait to get some clean veggies and meat...and go back to his whole diet... frack. To: mb12valtrex Sent: Tuesday, December 6, 2011 4:16 PMSubject: Re: another post on yeast Boy, do I ever know it. I just thought of it because years ago when my son was much worse, he was on a strict salicylate-free diet. It didn't seem to help, so we let him have natural salicylates again. I recently thought I was seeing a correlation with behaviors and put him back on a salicylate-free diet and what a WOW it was for him. Salicylates can be tricky to google because most lists show that just about every fruit and vegetable has salicylates. While this is true, only the highest ones are usually a problem. I have relied on the Feingold program to help me know which ones cause reactions for most people.Anyway, I feel your pain. It can be very frustrating trying to figure it all out at times!Cathy> >> > so with all this talk about yeast..the yeast beast may have come to visit channas house...I am usually anal with my journal keeping on my son and careful vigilance to his diet...however with many legal issues and migraines I been slacking on biomed with my son...he is not recovered yet....so close but not ready to drop supplements or diet..> > so yesterday i thought i would buy some gluten free muffins to be "a good mommy"> > now i remember why i hate gluten free products...in my house they are yeast feeders....two apple gluten free muffins...and he was tossing and turning...his nose completely blocked and woke up with white tongue.> > it could have also been a food allergen....I am trying to get back to the journal writing on all his symptoms....I was wanting to throw the book at him this morning and give him a bunch of supps...but i remembered what i keep telling you guys! so i only gave some GSE and lauricidin...of course i will be cutting down on the carbs.....> > need to sit down and reassess his treatment plan....> > where we are whats workin whats not...we still have a lot of parasites to deal with and that doesnt even include the ones in his body > >>

Guest guest
Here is a good explanation, even though it says it is about epsom salts: http://www.enzymestuff.com/epsomsalts.htm And here is another: http://healingautismandadhd.wordpress.com/diet-2/phenolssalicylates/ And here is one about No-Fenol which is an enzyme that can help with phenols/salicylates. They help one son of mine, but not the other. http://www.enzymestuff.com/nofenolfile.htm And of course, the best resource about a salicylate-free diet is Feingold: http://www.feingold.org/ If a person has to be really, really strict about salicylates, they are a great resource because they have shopping guides that show you which companies have cooperated with them and confirmed their ingredients. This list is nice also because the shopping list includes things like corn syrup and MSG, too. For my sons (combining their symptoms), salicylates can cause sleeplessness, irritability, anger and self-control issues, red ears, stuffy nose, bed-wetting, crying and tantrums, and increased OCD-type behaviors. One son can eat them in moderation (except tomatoes, apples, and grapes) and can take no-fenol to reduce symptoms and the other son can't eat them AT ALL. Hope that helps, Cathy > > > > so with all this talk about yeast..the yeast beast may have come to visit channas house...I am usually anal with my journal keeping on my son and careful vigilance to his diet...however with many legal issues and migraines I been slacking on biomed with my son...he is not recovered yet....so close but not ready to drop supplements or diet.. > > so yesterday i thought i would buy some gluten free muffins to be " a good mommy " > > now i remember why i hate gluten free products...in my house they are yeast feeders....two apple gluten free muffins...and he was tossing and turning...his nose completely blocked and woke up with white tongue. > > it could have also been a food allergen....I am trying to get back to the journal writing on all his symptoms....I was wanting to throw the book at him this morning and give him a bunch of supps...but i remembered what i keep telling you guys! so i only gave some GSE and lauricidin...of course i will be cutting down on the carbs..... > > need to sit down and reassess his treatment plan.... > > where we are whats workin whats not...we still have a lot of parasites to deal with and that doesnt even include the ones in his body > > >
