In response to all the posts:

Four years ago, Dave Clayman and I started the ball rolling on organizing a

group of parents who wanted to begin the steps necessary that would eventually

lead to the development of a self-contained community that could house our adult

children in a safe and productive environment.

However, we were obviously premature in our endeavors. At that time, the laws

prohibited such a community, our children were younger, and parents were not

ready to " go there " as of yet. Most importantly, the government appeared to be

footing the bill for adult living in the group home setting.

Well, need I state what has changed?

So Dave and I recently spoke again and decided to put our toes back in the water

and see if attitudes among the parents have changed. We also realize that there

may be several steps that need to happen before we actually begin the process of

community development.

So at this time, we want to regroup and see how we might progress.

If you are interested, please email Dave at daclayman@.... He will then

contact you with the time and place for our first meeting. Let us know where you

live, so we can find a meeting place that is convenient to all. This group is

for all families regardless of where you live. The Gold Coast, The Treasure

Coast., wherever. Even if you live out of town, we will arrange for

teleconference lines. Just let us know you are interested.
