Guest guest
Saw my neuro Thursday and one of the things I talked to her about was one that can't be measured or demonstrated. I've always been one to 'tear up' during sad or emotional movies, but lately I've come close to not just having tears in my eyes. Almost every time the tears came, my throat closed up and I couldn't speak for several minutes. A time or two I thought I might actually start sobbing out loud. This concerns me because of what happened to my mother, who also was dignosed with MS (around 1990). In 2000 I went home for the first visit home I'd made in a number of years. After a nice visit, I hugged my mom and then walked out of the door to get the the airport. I didn't get more than a few feet from the door when I heard my mom start, well, wailing. My dad hugged me and told me that this happened any time my mom got emotional. Up until that day, I had rarely seen my mother cry and I had never heard her even sob a little. By the time of her death in 2007, the emotional outburst were fewer but she was still more emotional than she'd been before. We had to be careful about getting 'mushy' around her. I know we MSers can have mood swings, and being bipolar (more depression, less manic), I've always been subject to mood swings unrelated to MS. But this has never happened to me before, no matted how depressed I got. Anyway, does anyone else have this problem? Thanks Dee
Guest guest
I cry easier than I used to, that's for sure. But the " emo-fits " come and go - there are some days when nothing works but a good squall. Thank goodness it's never happened in public!!! in WY Practical Blackwork Designs " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return... Guest guest
post menopausal since 2002. *sigh* This worries me mainly because it has only been an issue for the last few months and came on unexpectedly. Maybe it is only a temporary thing. One can only hope, right? Dee > > Dee,Are you any where near menopausal age?
