Guest guest
I'm always confused lol.. sorry.. But the T stands for the Testosterone propionate 2% cream right? If so can I just get this perscribed and mix in the estrace and emu oil myself? Or does it have to be compounded? My doctors are pretty good about giving me what I ask for I just have to know what it is where and how to get it... Any info would be greatly appreciated. Lee Ann Subject: Testosterone received, (Snailsgal)To: VulvarDisorders Date: Wednesday, May 21, 2008, 9:45 PMpropionate 2% cream right? HI Snailsgal... SO glad you were able to get the Testosterone hon.... usually it comes in an ointment form as standard procedure... called Testosterone propionate 2%, and the 2% strength is the typical too. T. has to be compounded so the pharmacist if they are good can use a variety of bases... like Pete at Bellevue uses the Liquigel as his base. Some might use the Emu oil too and like Hollis said Pete keeps it in his stock of standard supplies now to use because of her. *smile*... It should really help as it restores the E (estradiol) ''receptors' ' which often are defunct or deficient... AND used 'along with' the Estrace or compounded estradiol. It should really help hon. The two work so well together in a synergistic relationship . I only used the T 'topically' and just a small peasize, approx 3 X's a week to the E. cream once a night. In other words on the 3rd night I'd add the T right on top and massage both in. (that gentle massaging in for both is so important so don't forget that). It took a while but when I added the T. (previously I only tried the E alone for 4 months) but adding the T was the icing on the cake & put 'me' over the edge to full wellness hon. Good luck and hang in there hon. I think and hope you're on your way... *big smile* Also just to say that once you are better and doing great... a maintenance should be continued.. Mine is both E & T twice a week ... sometimes once a week and it definitely has kept me well now for years. Hugs Dee PS: Info on Bellevue compounding pharmacy is in our Home page under 'Database' left side of the screen.

Or does it have to be compounded?> HI Lee Ann Hon if you saw my previous answer I mentioned about mixing them or not.. (basically up to you) I like having them separate. But 'all' testosterone 'HAS' to be compounded. In other words there is no Brand name for it that a pharmacist just pulls off the shelf (like they do with Estrace) it's hand mixed and each pharmacist has their own formula (like a good cook) *grin* Some use the testosterone propionate 2% .... that's the typical recommendation... but it's the propionate part that is different in Petes at Bellevue... his is still the 2% Testosterone but in a different type of base and formula. There you'd have the doctor write (''Testosterone 2% in Liquigel'' use as directed.) (OR in Emu oil if you wanted that) That's what mine always writes then I just fax it in to Bellevue and it comes in 3-4 days. (you do have to set up your account first though and they do take most insurances. (ask when you set up an account) I think I pay around $9.00 with mine. But like I said most docs just write up T. propionate. it's been used for over 50 + years and so that's typical. But it likely doesn't matter too much as the Testosterone dosage or strength is the same. If you just got the T separate (had a prescription filled).... you could add it to your Estrace and an emu oil... if you wanted to. The Emu oil can be used separately as often as you wanted to. It's a carrier too so it helps deliver the meds (if used with that) deeper into the tissue. Dee
