Guest guest
None, from the parents side, needs to be 18 y/o and they will ask your child life history if medically proven to be disable (basically) process is long at least 3 month, patience is mandatory . Good luck. Does anyone know what the income requirements are to receive SSI Disability? Thanks in advance for your time.Regards, -- Anggarciaa@... Guest guest
From what I know there is absolutely an income limit involved if the child is under 18. I would call the social security office and ask what it is. Guest guest
Yep there sure is an income limit.... we did not qualify, they would not even let us get past the phone interview... once she asked if there was a parent income over ( I believe it was $ 36,000 ) a year and I said yes, she said well, I'm sorry, you can not qualify your child for an SS benefits - have a nice day and goodbye.... I verified this information 4 times ( yes I called them 4 times to make sure I got 4 different agents ) and it was the same information every time - plus it also says it on the web site
Guest guest
I've been struggling this same issue. Is there anything we CAN qualify for?? My family income is 70k for 3 ppl,My son really needs ABA & his DAN is out of pocket I can't afford it. > I verified this information 4 times ( yes I called them 4 times to make sure I got 4 different agents ) and it was the same information every time - plus it also says it on the web site >
Guest guest
I am in the same boat... we qualify for nothing because my husband actually has a good job... our insurance covers some speech and OT but it's a $ 40 co-pay per session and that is just way too expensive for us... we do not get any behavior therapy through insurance ... we went on the medwaiver list for that.... Children's Medical Services said we make too much money to cover anything and so did medicaid....
Guest guest
I had some luck getting my privately funded insurance to pay for my son's ABA therapy but there were countless loopholes to jump through. Just because an insurance company isn't required to cover autism doesn't mean they won't. You just have to call them up give them the proper codes and ask them is they are covered. The hard part is finding providers who take your insurance. Many therapy centers are stepping into the 21st century and beginning to work with insurance companies, it is important that we support those centers. I have made a personal decision not to work with companies/physicians who will not handle my insurance. I have one Dr. that I make an exception for because I have been working with him for so long now, but he is the only exception. Re: SSI Question I've been struggling this same issue. Guest guest
My insurance will cover 70%, but the provider won't file, I have to pay at $100/hr x 2 hr minimum twice a week..$400/week, then file a claim & maybe 6-8 weeks later, if I did paperwork correctly & it's not missing, I get $280 back? I'm still waiting on a claim from Feb.. I can't do this.. > > I verified this information 4 times ( yes I called them 4 times to make sure I got 4 different agents ) and it was the same information every time - plus it also says it on the web site > > >
Guest guest
That is exactly how it has worked for me as well. I hate it but so far it has been my only option as my child can not go without his ABA therapy. Guest guest
You might be able to find a biller who will do it for you and charge you approx 3%. Guest guest
I never thought about hiring my own biller. My mother has been handeling this for me for the past year and a half because it stresses me out so bad that my ability to take care of my child gets impacted.
