Guest guest
Guys, My family is from Broward, We recently started our 2 year old on a gluten free casein free diet. For a few months, we have avoided all kinds of fast food for her (not us). Anytime there's nothing to eat at home, my wife will always take care of the baby and I would just go buy something from any regular or fast food restaurant. We went to Orlando last weekend to attend the Family Café and we initially thought we would have such a difficult time trying to get something for her to eat while not being able to cook. It turned somehow into a more satisfactory experience when we were able to speak to a couple of Chef's at the restaurants including one in Magic Kingdom, and they were able to make or find in their menu, what at least they believed it was gluten casein free. So we spent 4 days without having complete control over her meals. One thing that caught my attention is that there were a couple of places that would not prepare a specific meal for her, but would advise us on which items on their menu were gluten casein free, pretty much rotisserie chicken or hamburgers without the bun, and a couple of fruit or vegetable sides. My question is (yes after all those lines above). If you have a child in a GFCF diet, do you guys rely on any of these restaurants like " Pollo Tropical " , " La Granja " , " La Brasa " , " Boston Market " or any other fast food restaurant and feel like you are not really breaking your child's diet? I'm not talking about Mc's, 's or Burger King, but most likely Pollo Tropical that claims to serve " sort of real food " . We would welcome any suggestions for those days that my daughter is tired of what we make her at home so we can get her something from somewhere else. Thank you

Guest guest
This is very good information, I have printed both of your comments to keep at home and consider those places when having to go out, the chinese food place is a great discovery for me > > > > > > Guys, > > > > > > My family is from Broward, We recently started our 2 year old on a gluten free casein free diet. Guest guest
I guess it is a concern with any restaurants, but I would be a little concerned about 'cross contamination' at fast food restaurants. I know you asked about semi- fast food places, but Longhorn has several items. Allergen info online @ www.longhornsteakhouse.com/menu/pdf/glutenFree.pdf at the bottom of the page you can download the pdf of the gluten free menu. Guest guest
Yes crosscontamination is a huge concern, i know Mc's and most fast food places deepfry the nuggets and hashbrowns in the same oil as the French fries, that's why i was asking if you relied on those restaurants as a safe choice for staying gfcf. Good info on longhorn, i downloaded the PDF, thanks a lot Sent from my HTC on the Now Network from Sprint!----- Reply message -----Date: Thu, Jun 9, 2011 5:50 pmSubject: Re: Gluten Free - Sort of Fast FoodTo: <sList > I guess it is a concern with any restaurants, but I would be a little concerned about 'cross contamination' at fast food restaurants.
